Chapter 42: Cassandra

As soon as everyone was flat on the ground, I drew from their energy, bringing pieces of their elements into my own. I struggled to stay on my feet, using the energy as a crutch. I wasn't sure I could do what I was about to try, but I raised my hands anyway. I called out the spell and leapt into the air, coming down hard on my hands and feet. The earth shook voraciously, sending shockwaves in every direction. When I looked up, I saw the world had turned back to its normal, despairing self. But once we finished Edius, the despair would go away.

Everyone stood and at first stared ahead. Then, from the corner of my eye, I could see them all staring at me. I glanced at Dash and blew on my fingers. "I got it even better."

"That was pretty damn impressive," Nicolette said and gave me a high five. "Where'd you learn that?"
