Chapter 32

We were all on edge. There was a cool breeze whipping through the woods as we waited for the clock to strike 11. We had spent the entire day at the Reserve mapping things out and making sure everyone had their tasks down. Nothing could go wrong.

Siting on the side of the deserted access road we waited anxiously. Gavin drummed his fingertips on the steering wheel while I sat beside him in the passenger seat. I kept checking the time on my phone, waiting for it to hit 11pm, but the seconds seemed to be everlasting. Sage sat in the backseat looking out the rear window nervous that someone would stumble upon us before we had a chance to put our plan in motion. Sophie and Lucas sat parked behind us in his dark navy Jeep. I could see the light from her laptop illuminating the interior with a pale blue glow.

I glanced at the clock again, only a minute had passed, ugh I needed to relax, to focus on the plan, so I went over it in my head one more time. This had to go off perfectly.
