In those olden days, there were little to no effective birth control methods and well, babies are made from having intercourse.
I notice that most co-wives came to be after the first child, or after several kids (depending on culture)
Well, when women give birth, they split their minds into child care and self-care. They also need to care for the father, again gender roles according to their community.
When the lady has children, they need to recover mentally and physically to go back to the little slutty lover girl who fell in love and got married; which is perfectly fine!
When going through all these changes, she may need a break or a little enthusiasm in the sexy department, sexy not intimacy...get it right!
