Prologue

She tried to open her eyes, over and over again. It felt like a blur, she tried to remember...

her accident. She had a terrible accident, she must be in a hospital now, as she expected.

"Is my family here? My friends?" she wonders. Then she remembers: "No, they can't be here. I have none. Not anymore. Not after everything..."

She fell asleep again. When she awoke, she had no idea for how long she has passed away. Was it for hours? Days?

She must have heard some doctor's voices by now, but there weren't.

Then she finally managed to open her eyes.

And she realized: "I'm not in a hospital. No, no. This cannot be! Where am I?"

She inspected her surroundings, and her biggest fear turned out true:

It's a cave.

A cave...

Over and over again, she tried to put the events together, the pieces of her memories, trying to make any sense of it.

She drove by car. Was she alone? Yes. What happened then?

...

"My name..."

"My name is... or was?"

"It's Annabelle. That's what everyone called me."

But there are other things to worry about then just my name, she remembered.

She was still in a cave. And she had a car accident, but there were no wounds, not anywhere.

"How is this possible?"

She still tried to remember... nothing.

Her legs didn't even hurt when she got up, so she started walking.

"If I can't remember yet, then I'll try to find a way out. Maybe someone can tell me? Is this possible? Or am I kidnapped? But how can I be uninjured then? And why can I see something in here, while I can't see the exit?"

Where is the exit...

Then the whole cave collapsed and everything turned black again.

When she opened her eyes anew, she wasn't in a cave anymore.

She wasn't lying on something, either. She was floating.

"Where am I?" She said aloud, sure that someone will be answering. There was another one's presence she felt.

But what she heard was not what she expected, or rather HOW she heard it.

YOU ARE NOWHERE ... AND EVERYWHERE.

A voice called.

"What?"

THIS IS A WORLD BETWEEN WORLDS. A FLOW OF TIME DOESN'T EXIST HERE. YOU'VE JUST AWOKEN IN A CAVE, A SMALL PLACE IN YOUR NEW WORLD, WHERE YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE.

WHEN YOU AWOKE THERE, YOU'VE BEEN IN YOUR OLD BODY. I WILL GIVE YOU A NEW ONE, WITH A NEW NAME. FROM NOW ON, YOU WILL BE CALLED LUNARA.

YOUR DEATH WASN'T AN ACCIDENT. I...

"My Death?"

DO NOT INTERRUPT ME, PLEASE. I WANT YOU TO DO ME A FAVOUR. I CAN'T COMMUNICATE WITH THE WORLD PHYSICALLY, SO I NEED A CHAMPION.

I CHOSE YOU.

I WILL SEND YOU TO A PLACE IN THE SOLAR FOREST NEAR THE CITY ALATERRA. STOP THE EVIL FORCES, CAUSED BY A FOREIGN DEMON RACE.

The next moment, Lunara didn't float anymore. She stood in the middle of a forest, wide-eyed, shocked, about everything she'd just heard.

But it wasn't the end of something, it was just the beginning.
