Chapter-15

"Kwan, are you really not kidding?" He asked for the fifth time.

"No, I will leave tomorrow evening and probably reach early in the morning." I said for the fifth time again.

He squealed. "Damn. I can't believe it. I am so happy."

I smiled sleepily. "But I can only stay for three nights. Will that be enough?"

"Ehhhhhhh. What do you mean?" He laughed.

I laughed. "What? What did you think?"

"You!"

I laughed again. "I asked that because for me it won't be enough."

"Hmm. Is that so Mr. Kwan?"

"Yes."

"It won't be enough for me too."

I blushed. "Look who agreed."

"I really wish they make the airport sooner. That way you wouldn't have to travel for seven hours to meet me."

"I wish too. It's probably going to take another year to finish building the airport. That shouldn't be a problem because I am going to go to the city to study anyways. I can just remain there with you."

He laughed. "So what do you plan on doing for those days? I don't have any knowledge about the city or any places we could go."

"Hm. Don't worry. I have everything planned."

"What? How?"

"I did my research so it's a surprise."

He giggled. "Making me excited."

I laughed. "You should be."

"Mom, Puai is making a mess. Please control her." I said, annoyed at my little sister who was throwing my clothes across the room.

"Puai! Let your brother pack in peace. Stop being so childish." Mom yelled at her and I stuck my tongue out at her.

She scowled at me. "You said you would take me to the mountains when you come back but now you are leaving for the city!"

I stared at her. I was too happy to let anything bother me. "I will be gone only for a few days. I can take you after I come back."

"No! You broke the promise. Now you gotta pay."

I laughed and stuck my tongue out at her again.

"Mom! Kwanie is annoying me!" She squealed loudly and I laughed.

"Kwan, go dress up now. I will pack the clothes for you again." Mom said with a sigh and held Puai by the shoulder.

I grinned teasingly. "I will definitely take you after I come back." I said and grabbed my towel.

"Son?" Mom called.

"Yeah?"

"When are your friends arriving?"

"Oh." I lied that I was going to the city with some friends. "They will join me in my next stop, mom." I smiled, sounding assuring.

She shook her head and went on to pick my clothes from the ground, mumbling. "I don't understand why you would plan to go somewhere so far for an excursion..."

I walked in the bathroom.

My heart felt like spring as I could literally feel flowers bloom. I sang and danced in the shower with my heart out. I was extremely happy and excited. It was only a few more hours and he would be with me. I just couldn't believe it. I had always imagined how I would react or what I would do when I would first meet him but now that the day was finally here, I was nervous and still making scenarios.

I walked to the bus stand, feeling jittery. I was in a daze as it was still unreal. I had bid goodbye to my family and was just some time away from meeting him. The sun had set long ago ago and the cold wind was stronger. I caught the right bus and took a seat. Luckily enough, there were only a few passengers so I got the luxury of sitting alone for the night. The seats were quite comfortable. I placed my bag on the seat beside me to use it as a pillow. After settling down, I dialed his number.

"Kwan." He greeted, sounding a little breathless.

I frowned. "Hey, is everything alright?"

"Oh, yeah." He breathed heavily. "I came for a walk outside and ended up being chased by some dogs. Luckily I survived." He laughed.

I laughed. "Guess dogs are attracted to you now."

"We are natural enemies actually."

I shook my head with a smile. "Um...so I just boarded the bus and I am on my way...to you."

He gasped. "Oh my god! You know what? I still can't believe it."

"Me too."

"I..." He trailed off.

"What?"

"Umm actually I don't think I will be able to meet you in the morning. Our professor suddenly announced a surprise test today but since nobody was prepared for it, he scheduled it for tomorrow morning. I only have that test in that morning then I can come to you. I am sorry, Kwan." I could tell he was really upset.

Even though it sort of upset me too, it was fine. "Hey, it's okay. It's better. I can rest a while in the morning and then meet up in the afternoon."

"Oh yeah, you are right. You will be tired after this long journey. Of course you need rest."

I bit my lips. "So meeting in that restaurant is cancelled." I stated.

"I guess so."

"Hmm so when does your test end?"

"Eleven."

I raised my eyebrows. Someone behind me was talking too loudly. It was annoying. And someone had their windows open and the cold air was giving a hard time to everybody.

"Great. I can come pick you up from university." I said.

"WHAT!" He exclaimed loudly. "It will be a two hour drive from the city to my university."

"So?"

"So? It's fine. I can go to you."

"No, I will go to you. The sooner, the better." I smiled.

He sighed. "Kwan, just rest well till that time. I will run as soon as my test gets over."

I shook my head. "No. I will go to you. Send me the location."

"Kwan please no."

"I have imagined a lot of things. One of them is picking you up from college. Let me do this one, please."

He was silent for a moment and I knew I had him.

"Fine." He finally agreed.

I grinned broadly. "That's final. I am coming to get you."

He chuckled. "Silly."

"So are you going on keep me company for the night?" I asked.

"No, you better try to get little sleep."

"Oh why?" I whined.

"Because I don't want to see you sleepy the whole day tomorrow."

"Hmm makes sense."

"So hang up and sleep now, silly."

"Woah. Talk with me till I feel sleepy at least."

"Okay. Okay." He laughed.
