Report

"That's all chief." Micheal finished up his report as he the chief read through the notes after hearing the story from Micheal.

"That old coot didn't give you any problems did he? You know what he's like."

"Everything is like you read in the report. He's all more than happy to talk about the Miyazaki Family. Anyway chief, we need to open an investigation on the Miyazaki Family head. She is too dangerous to be left alone without any information. All we got on file about her is the involvement in the Solomon Family massacre."

"I can start an open an investigation. However, there is a chance that it will be closed by those higher up if they think it's not worth it. Think about it, the Miyazaki Family has been very low key in recent years, those up top will be more than happy to allow them to keep power as long as they don't make noise." The chief got closer to Micheal with him moving forward as well whispering, "And we both know that there are definitely those who are working with the Miyazaki's to make a good profit."

"Thank you chief, that's good enough." Micheal turn to leave

"Micheal one more thing." Micheal was interrupted by the chief. "If the case is closed, don't go on your own again. I stuck my neck out for you last time. Your lucky you had some achievements to your name when you done it, but it can't happen again."

Micheal's hand paused above the door knob. He remained like that for a second before nodding his head in understanding. The chief saw this and sighed shaking his head when Micheal left.

Outside the office, Alice was waiting there with a cup of water. She saw Micheal leave and hurriedly when over to him. "How did it go?"

"He agreed to open the case. Problem is, it could get shut down."

"Why?" She tilted her head in a confused manner looking up.

"This happens a lot when it involves criminals or organisations with some form of political power. Take the Solomons, they were chased for years but investigations on them were constantly thrown out because someone up top had dealings with them that would not only look bad with released but also gave them a good profit."

"So what your saying is we won't get anywhere?"

"Not exactly this time. Unlike the Solomons, the Miyazaki's have just tried to assassinate two ATF agents, which has already spread to the news. No one, even the ones who are the deepest in the Miyazaki's pockets would try to shut the case down for a while. If we're lucky we get a year."

Alice sighed in relief. "What now then?"

"For now we wait until it is all made official, once the orders are released that's when we can act."
