Chapter: 19

I materialized in my room and swiftly changed out of the Glacial Sentinel Armor into casual clothing. Opening a portal to my personal dimension, I stepped inside and was greeted by a large white spider with pink/red eyes—an Arch Taratect. I raised a brow at its unexpected presence.

"Why is an Arch Taratect here?" I mused aloud.

Suddenly, a phone appeared next to me, floating in the air, emitting a female monotone voice.

"Hello, maker."

"Why the monotone voice, D?" I asked, intrigued.

"Oh, nothing," D replied with a hint of amusement.

I absentmindedly petted the Arch Taratect as I focused on the phone. "Where is everyone else? It's unusually quiet here."

"Well, Ariel, Sinbad, and Madara are asleep somewhere, Aizen is meditating, Rimuru is wandering, Arceus remains in his dimension, and Mio and Uriel are with me," D informed me.

"Got it. Just checking in," I said.

"Hmm."

"By the way, what are you up to?" I asked curiously.

"Playing video games," D replied casually.

"Of course you are. Alright, I'm heading out now. I sense my brother approaching," I said, preparing to end the conversation.

"Tata~" D chimed as the phone vanished.

I gestured for the Arch Taratect to leave and reopened a portal back to my room. Stepping through, I opened the door just as Jin-woo was about to knock.

"Come in," I invited, and Jin-woo entered with a serious expression, closing the door behind him.

"Follow me," I instructed, leading him through a portal into the vast, serene landscape of my personal dimension. The air was crisp, carrying the scent of distant forests, and the sound of flowing water echoed from a nearby river.

"Ask away," I prompted Jin-woo.

"When did you become a hunter, and what is this ability?" he inquired, his curiosity evident.

"I gained access to my abilities about a week before you left the hospital. As for this," I gestured to the dimension, "it's part of my ability."

Jin-woo nodded slowly, processing the information. "A week before... and this dimension is connected to your abilities."

"What about the angel you summoned during the red gate incident?" he asked next.

"Uriel is currently occupied," I replied vaguely.

"Occupied?"

"Yeah. Anyway, I have things to attend to now," I said, opening a portal behind Jin-woo.

He nodded, seeming to accept the partial explanation, and I closed the portal after he stepped through.

"You know he's suspicious," D's voice came from a phone to my left.

"I know, but I'm not in the mood to explain. It'll be too much work if he starts digging into Ashborne's memories," I replied.

"Fair enough."

Exiting the dimension, I closed the portal and walked into the living room where I found Jinah hiding by the window and Jin-woo watching the news.

"What are you hiding from?" I asked Jinah.

"The reporters," she replied nervously.

I looked out the window and saw a large group gathered outside our apartment.

"They haven't left yet?!" I exclaimed.

"No," Jin-woo confirmed.

"Shouldn't we just tell them to leave?" he suggested.

"No, that would only make things worse. You two are already being criticized online," Jinah advised.

"Being criticized? What did we do?" Jin-woo asked, puzzled.

"I'm curious too," I added.

"You both left without addressing the reporters. I'm fine, but you should try to avoid them," Jinah explained.

"...Alright," I said, teleporting back to my room to get some rest.

"Giratina, keep an eye on things," I instructed.

"Understood."
