Tharnomath Versus Ulthris

The rushing raging large red skinned lava stone orc began to attack with pure fury. The 2 handed war hammer he wields is famous in the city of Lucille's Light as one of the heaviest weapons in its existence.

It doesn't look like that, however, once someone as strong as Ulthris Kaahen swings it around. Making it look like it has the weight of a paper sword rather than a weapon weighing half a house.

Overwhelming size and strength, those are the features that define Ulthris Kaahen. Any opponent unprepared to meet these conditions will only get crushed. This doesn't mean however that you have to surpass him in that regard. A battle is more than just brute strength, after all. Witt, intelligence, magical prowess, experience, injuries, numbers, mentality, and luck. Many varying factors weigh in when one battles.

Besides, Tharnomath has it's own reputation that's not to be underestimated.

Tharnomath Talvit better known as the "frost tyrant" or the "frozen golden monster" has been an influential figure for centuries. Second son of Arioch Talvit, a devil that became very influential in the early years after Luciel's disappearance.

Instead of fighting with his elder brother Ergillaz, the brother decided to ally together. At first, he was mocked by the others, they claimed he was weak for surrendering the succession battle.

These murmurs did not last long, the Talvit brothers quickly reinstated their dominion over the city. Those who challenged them were disposed of. Mercy was rarely shown, especially by Tharnomath.

He was determined after all to be worthy of the Talvit name. He would not allow any whispers of weakness to persist.

Tharnomath personally disposed of more than half of their enemies. People began to realize, if you wanted to live, than you better not mock the"frost tyrant". For he rules with an iron fist, and his golden eyes only share the cold of dead.

He might not be as strong physically as Ulthris. His magical prowess is, however, far greater, and he has the experience to not make any rookie mistakes.

Ulthris Kaahen came in swinging with his ferocious and brutal strength. Tharnomath using his pressure magic and superior speeds dodges this onslaught.

Each swing that misses connects with a building, making them crumble. Only leaving rubble and destruction behind with every hit.

'Dammit, it seems that neither Ergillaz or Seccessus is close by. Even that spiteful wench Sorzana would be helpful.' Tharnomath thinks whilst keeping his distance from Ulthris Kaahen. Debating internally if he had to risk this battle with Ulthris or if he would have to retreat.

His pride tells him to fight, but he knows his brother would rather have him retreat than die in vain.

Then something began to whisper in his mind, a thought purely driven by pride and no rational thinking.

A simple question.

'Why would I lose? Ulthris is strong and has ingested titan blood but still I am a Talvit.'

Having made up his mind, Tharnomath stops his dodging retreat. The six golden eyes that are famous for lowering the temperature are all focused on Ulthris Kaahen.

The large lava stone orc smiles, seeing his opponent's decision. He was eager to battle and to spill blood.

Orcs in general have always been considered one of the more aggressive races in existence. They are easy to anger and hard to teach any form of discipline. Their inherent strength didn't help in quelling these tendencies.

Ulthris Kaahen is no different, he's the pinnacle of a lava stone orc. Strong beyond belief, easy to displease and merciless. He quickly became the leader of his fellow kin, crushing the previous leader's head with his bare hands. Now he wields the great war hammer called "Schweres Herz". Famous for its weight and the weapon the first lava stone orc leader used.

The weapon itself was fundamentally impressive. The weight was unbearable for anyone who does not surpass inherent orcish strength. Strangely enough, the weapon's tale is speculated to be strangely romantic and tragic.

It's rumored that the first lava stone orc leader fell in love with the daughter of a failing blacksmith. His weapons were efficient but looked rather childlike and crude. He also refused to dabble with magic of any kind, this also includes runes. This meant that other blacksmiths who made better looking weapons, but less efficient, could bypass this difference in efficiency simply using runes.

The first leader of the lava stone orcs did not really care about the design of the weapons. He simply wished to have an excuse to come visit the blacksmith and more importantly, the woman he fell in love with.

She did not often leave the house. The female satyr was rumored to be unusually frail and fell easily ill. Still, however, time passed by, and their feelings quickly became mutual. The lava stone orc was enchanted by her beauty and her caring personality. Something that was quite unheard of in Orcish culture or the city of Lucille's Light.

The female satyr fell in love because of different reasons. She was impressed by the strength that she would never possess. Of course, this would not simply be enough to fall in love, but the lava stone orc was unusually gentle and careful around her. Seeing such a large warrior acting like a gentle teddy bear was heart fluttering for the female satyr. Besides, the lava stone orc unlike her was not sick. He lived in the city and could witness its tales, which he of course always came to share with the female satyr, who could not witness them herself.

Their love was pure and gentle.

Every tale has an end, and not all of them are happy. Especially not in a city that does not have laws.

One day, the lava stone orc decided to visit the blacksmith again. What greeted him was not the usual shop making arms, but a building completely destroyed. The blacksmith was dead, and his daughter was missing. The orc was momentarily dazed before he grabbed the first weapon he could see lying around. A great war hammer that looked childish and crude, but more efficient nonetheless.

Bearing this new weapon, the orc started to search for the one who possessed his heart. Desperation and sadness turned to rage. His search became more and more brutal.

Recognizing his display of strength, the lava stone orcs decided to follow him as their leader. The orc did not care but decided to accept their loyalty. His search had not ended yet and if they were prepared to listen to his orders than he had more eyes and ears that can search for his beloved.

Years passed by, the lava stone orc's reputation was quite stellar. Someone described as absolutely unbeatable. Until he met a foe he could not beat.

The orc turned old, and his time had passed, death embraced the ever searching orc.

Giving him a rest he well deserved.

Kinda got carried away with the backstory of the weapon....
