A Nightly Hunt

Finding the individual named Uthred has proven to be surprisingly difficult. Especially since he's described as a loudmouthed fool and not as an expert thief or something else sneaky.

Three unfruitful nights pass by, using his powers to search, only more useless information has been found. Still, the shade demon who hasn't slept the past 3 days is not panicking. The greatest quality during the hunt is patience. The predator skulks around and stalks his prey, whilst the prey has to stay vigilant at all times. The first one to give up is the loser, and Secessus had no intention to backtrack on his agreement.

'Is it normal for such an apparent loudmouth to keep quiet, I've already spent more time than I thought I would, just to find the bastard.' Secessus curses mentally. Whilst continuing to listen to his droplets of blood whispering the words heard by the shadow.

"Uthred is that you? Luckily, Asariel is already blind, otherwise the sight of you would've done the trick."

"Who asked you? You son of a whore! Do I need to remind you what happens when you fuck with me." The rough voice of apparently Uthred replies, speaking outrageously loud and without a single care of pronunciation.

Secessus focuses his sight, watching from the shadows. He sees the appearances of a man with black hair that has mostly turned gray, age has blessed the man as he's quite the silver fox. The other man is another story. A disheveled appearance and vomit on his shirt and coat proof enough that the man had been drinking either the day prior or recently. His short brown, disheveled hair in desperate need of a shower or whatever it is they use in this world.

"You know, I'm just playing. But seriously, what happened?"

"Why should I tell you, huh? I don't have to tell you shit!" The man that's apparently Uthred replies in a way too defensive manner. Even the other man who appears to know him looks rather concerned about his demeanor.

"Hey, Uthred. Are you okay, boy?" The silver fox asks, reaching out toward the younger Uthred.

"Yo…GE…." Uthred clearly tries to get angry again, but something else happens instead. The man called Uthred instead of yelling starts to burst into tears.

"Hey, Hey! Calm now. Let's get you inside. The next drink is on the house. What about that?" The silver fox who's apparently also the owner of a shop says trying to calm down the crying Uthred.

"I…. Someone attacked me." Uthred admits whilst being guided inside.

"What? Let's get inside first."

"I'm sorry for interrupting. But unfortunately, I cannot allow that." Secessus says as his walks out of the shadow that he was listening through. Shocking both Ulthred and the silver fox.

"WHA…! The sliver fox tries to yell, but his mouth is soon sealed as Secessus uses some of his darkness magic to control a string of darkness and forcibly keep his mouth shut.

"I don't mean any harm. Just tell me what I need to know, and I'll be on my way." Secessus says with a disarming smile, trying to stop the situation from escalating.

"You're like him, right? Please, I swear I don't know anything else. Spare me... Spare me." Uthred begins to plead, almost crying anew.

"Him? I work alone. But please do tell." Secessus moves closer to the crouching and whimpering man.

"A man captured me 4 days ago and brought me to this abandoned house, I guess? Look, I don't know where, but he asked what I knew about the grand duke and hm staying here. I… I told him that I heard a rumor that he was staying here, but that I didn't know anything else."

"Describe this man." Secessus command using a more intimidating aura this time, seeing that Uthred's fear could be used.

"A shorter man with yellow eyes, He was covered pretty well, so I can't say anything about his hair, but I think he has a hand tattoo." The whimpering voice says, giving the shade demon the information he needs.

"And where did you hear this rumor, or rather from whom?"

"…" Uthred despite shivering surprisingly stays silent.

"Since you were gone for 4 days, I can assume that you haven't been treated that well. Do you want to experience that again? I must warn you, I'm quite the demon when it comes to that sort of thing." Secessus silently unleashes even more aura, this time infused with killing intent.

"…" Still Uthred stays silent even though he's shivering, and his legs have given up. The rumored loudmouth, staying quiet even when threatened.

"How respectable, let's change things up."Secessus says as he summons his blood bound spear and points it toward the neck of the silver fox.

"You either tell me who or where you heard the rumor from, or this man dies." The blood bound spear from Secessus now drawing blood.

"Wait, I'll tell you! Please calm down!" Uthred quickly falters, as his conscience is probably the only thing worth left torturing after what he has experienced the past days.

"I overheard my cousin discussing it with some of her subordinates. I don't know anything else!"

"And who might this cousin be?" Secessus asks, looking for his next target.

"Aya, her name is Aya."

"Any interesting facts or tidbits I should know about your cousin? Don't be shy."

"She's the leader of a bunch of smugglers and a smuggler herself. I don't know the specifics!"

"MMH." Secessus grumbles unclearly, trying to figure out if he has dried Uthred out for all he's worth.

"Please… I swear… Just don't kill him."

'Kill him?' Secessus turns to look at the silver fox he's held captive. His spear absorbing the small droplets of blood coming out of his neck, the spear is basically begging for the final touch.

'What was I going to do if he didn't tell me? Could I kill him? Just like that?' The momentary silence that happens Whilst Secessus is deep in thought is quite uncomfortable for the 2 humans.

"Please… Pl-" Without having the chance to continue saying please for what could well be the fiftieth time, Secessus releases the silver fox. Dispelling the blood bound spear and the string of dark magic.

"That will be all. Have a pleasant day." He says as the shadow on the wall comes out and grabs him, swallowing him as he disappears from sight.
