"Before I answer that question, I want to know what you think. Does it seem to you like I'm still in love with her?" I asked. I had a feeling that Emerald had something in mind with this question and I wanted to know if she genuinely thought that I was still in love with Marlene.

She smirked. "Do you want to hear the truth from me?" she asked and I nodded affirmatively.

"Well, it doesn't exactly seem to me like you've gotten over her seeing how you still allow her do whatever she wants and you don't seem to care about the consequences at all. I wouldn't want to conclude on the kind of feelings you have for her but as an outsider, it does seem to me like you still very much like her and this is just how I feel," she explained.
