Chapter Fifty — Finding Emerald

My intention when I spoke to Emerald earlier about the terms of our marriage was to be as honest as I could with her but seeing how she reacted after I told her the truth, I immediately regretted not keeping my mouth shut.

Since she was acting very weird around me, I wanted to clear things up between us and help her realize that I had no intention of being dishonest with her but she seemed to have become even more irritated with me and I couldn't understand why.

After our conversation, she went up to her room almost immediately and since then, she hasn't come out of her bedroom. I heard from Nancy that she had requested for her food to be brought to her room until further notice and it seemed to me that she was going to continue ignoring me despite my efforts to put an end to that.
