"The system was just trying to make sure that you weren't a hostile intruder. Plus, you haven't told us your name, so isn't that a bit rude as well?" Aaron pointed out, watching as the new voice spoke up.
{Fine. My real name isn't audible to your ears, as it would cause your consciousness to fall, so just call me by my nickname, L. That's all you need to know about me, except for the fact that I am 100% Boundless.}
Hearing L repeat themselves was getting somewhat annoying, so Aaron began to focus on the physical power he had over others. He first stretched, listening to L go on a boring monologue about how they got such power with relative ease. Aaron was hypocritical in that sense. He would monologue and he'd force other people to listen.
Aaron looked at his power level, bringing up a visualisation of it, and he saw that there was a chain binding his power in place temporarily. "Interesting. I wonder why the chains are in place." Aaron asked himself out loud, causing Monument to walk over in confusion. "Aaron, would you mind explaining what the hell just happened?" Monument asked Aaron, who happily obliged.
"So, I have had limiters placed on me, and now I can control my power, the power of others, and how much power is sealed and unsealed at any given time. It's a pretty useful ability, as now I can accurately see what my power level is at any given time, and I can decrease it to any level. I wonder what I'd have to bring my power level to so that I could equal yours." Aaron explained while pondering his question.
A tab appeared in Aaron's vision, and all he could do was stare at it in awe. He was able to see the max level of power Monument had access to, his current power level and what would happen if he increased it too much. It was a very detailed tab, but the one thing that interested him was Monument's current power level. It appeared as a cylinder, and below that read the level of his strength.
{420.69M}
All Aaron could think of were two things, the first thing being 'So, this is how people's strength is measured'. The only other thing going on in his mind was this.
'Nice. Very nice.'
So, Aaron could see what Monument's power level was. What was the point of that? Well, it let him do this. Aaron decreased his power level to 420.69M, which he presumed was short for 'Million'. He then looked towards Monument with a smile on his face and a gleam in his eyes.
"We're now on the same power level, Monument. I decreased myself to your power so that we could have seen who is actually stronger. It's a test of skill and strategy more than anything, considering we'd be on equal terms." Aaron stated. "So, would you like to fight me in a fair duel?"
Monument just laughed as he got into a fighting stance. It reminded Aaron a lot like the stand of a sprinter, but his arms weren't at the ground, and Monument was staring directly at him. "I've been curious. Recently I tried simulating battles like this in my head, but there was never a clear winner. This way, we can test to see who is actually more capable." Monument explained as he rushed towards Aaron, creating a sonic boom as he sprinted. Aaron smiled, and in one fell swoop, rushed towards him, tripping him up as he was running. This caused him to fall face-first into the ground, shattering the earth around them. Aaron clapped his hands together, removing any dust from his palms.
"So, I guess that settles it then." Aaron cockily stated, before looking back at the crater where Monument had fallen, only to see him gone. "Not quite," Monument responded, delivering a vicious backhand to the side of Aaron's head. It sent Aaron flying into a nearby mountain, three kilometres away, shattering half of the mountain, but not before he could throw three very special knives into the air. Aaron smiled as he tried to stand up, but he realised that one of his legs was broken due to the sheer impact. Great. He couldn't feel the pain, even though he no longer had the painless body skill. Monument then appeared in front of him, a smile on his rocky face.
"So, I guess that makes me the person who would beat you in a fight!" Monument exclaimed, happy at his victory. Aaron then began to laugh. Monument was confused, and without saying a word, Aaron pointed up to the sky. Monument looked up, and directly in front of his eyes was a knife with a blade as red as blood. The knife exploded in a very colourful explosion, sending colours everywhere, but it sent Monument into the ground, where he lay there, dazed. Aaron just laughed and used his own strength to hop out of the crater and land beside him.
"Never doubt the skills of a weapon enthusiast, Monument. You don't know what they could do with their attacks." Aaron explained, leaving the monument defeated. He didn't know how to counter-act Aaron's speed or apparent planning, so all he did was just lie there, defeated. Aaron was surprised, but he couldn't blame him. He had thought he had won, after all.
Alec looked around the room he was in, only to find everything but a clock shrouded in darkness. He wasn't sure what he was doing here, but he wanted to leave. Now. He tried moving his arms and legs, but they were tied down to a table he was lying on. He couldn't move himself or the table, so he was just stuck there, looking at both the face of Joseph and the strangely illuminated clock, which read the simple time of:
11:45. 15 minutes until the birth of our new God occurs.
