159. More than he thought

As she made her way to the third floor, she realised how quiet it was getting. The ambience was completely different on this floor. Very quiet and chilly. Or was it her own thoughts playing tricks on her?

Taking a deep breath, she released her foot from the last step. She was now on the third floor.

Her eyes swept around, taking in the crispy white surrounding which made her look like a stain. Only the door knobs were gold. Everything else was white. And with those giant pale gold bulbs built into the ceiling, the whole place shone brightly like broad day.

"Wow..." She couldn't help but whisper in amazement. She wondered if anyone had ever stepped foot on this white marble floor tiles with the way they shone under the bright light.

Aside the bulbs that were built in the ceiling, there were some fancy looking golden cages hanging on the walls, holding small bulbs that looked like candles, which were also shining brightly, adding to the dazzling display.
