Heartless Monster

Sliding over the thick blanket of darkness, the sun had long gone to sleep, the sheeny moon and stars filling up its space over the broad chest of the sky.

Aurora was still sitting there just like that but now instead of her island, she was staring at the moon. Victor and Eric ate some fire roasted fish and upon offering her the food, she just served them a hot glare and then went back to her staring session. Eric responded to that with a nonchalant shrug.

Victor was sleepy after the dinner so he went over to have a little nap while Eric took hold of the ship. For that he needed to move and pull her with him but she couldn't just stand with him the whole night so he decided to be a little lenient towards her.

"If you behave like a good girl and sleep without creating any fuss, I can release you from this." He said, gesturing at the cufflink with the movement of her eyes.

She just squinted back at him and there was so much…hatred in her eyes, if it was someone other than Prince Draveric, he may have choked on all that hate and died.

"I don't want your mercy." She gritted her teeth and stood up with him. "Also, this fake thoughtfulness doesn't suit your ugly truth."

Eric couldn't help but laugh at her remark. "Quite amusing!"

"Oh really?" She came to stand right before him, folding her arms over her chest. "For you it's amusing to kidnap and hold someone hostage against their will, hurt their family before their eyes and then don't even let them stay with them and see if they are okay. Don't you have a family of your own? What if someone did this to your sister and then pulled you away without giving you the chance to help her?" Her voice had started cracking as her lips quivered.

"Hurting your sister wasn't intentional. She should have kept her nose out." He didn't seem the slightest bit fazed by her rant but annoyed.

"But kidnapping me was, right?" She raised an eyebrow at him.

"Listen girl," he stepped closer but Aurora held her ground that caused their noses to almost touch. "You have no idea who you are standing in front of. Don't play with fire. I do as I wish and these human emotions can't trap me so quit trying."

"Well yeah of course because you are incapable of having any emotions as I said earlier, you are a heartless monster. If you think I will get scared of you then you are so very wrong. Kill me if you wish but I won't obey." Though deep down her heart was thumping like a wild animal caught in a cage, she could smoothly fake all that bravery in front of him. Maybe all that hate towards him was fueling it or what but she had certainly never been his brave before.

"Don't worry I won't kill you, it shall be worse." He smirked, leaning closer and that was when Aurora took a few steps back. His gaze was too intense, too intimidating, she couldn't hold it for longer than that. "And with every disobedience and disrespect, the punishment shall increase." There was something in his tone that sent cold shivers down her spine. She felt very cold and bare in front of him.

"W-what are you doing?!" She pulled further away from him when Eric started taking off his cloak but she ended up stumbling right into his naked chest. She had forgotten that her hand was linked with his so when she tried to pull away he didn't even budge from his spot but the inertia caused her to get pulled back towards him.

"Why so desperate, Princess? I am not taking it off for that purpose." He looked down at her and winked.

"You jerk!" She stepped back immediately and remembering his earlier words, she bit her teeth to stop herself from saying anything else.

Lord knew what kind of punishments and tortures he will give her once she reaches their land. Now that the initial sense of loss and anger was subsiding, the fear of the unknown was slowly starting to crawl up her skin. She is all alone in the land of strangers or more precisely, enemies. No one would be there to protect her. She was doomed.

A sensation of warmth pulled her out of her thoughts and as she came back to reality, she realized that he had put his cloak around her bare shoulders and arms.

Wait what?!
