VANCE’S POV
It took a while for my body to recover from the buzz and hunger it felt when the intruder pressed his body against mine. I had never felt this way before. The truth was I had dated a few females and lost the taste of dating after a few dates when I never felt the spark.
I picked up the coffee bag and then pulled out a small card. My hand shook as I read the name on the card. ‘DAXIA’. F*ck! So, it was him? How could I be attracted to a criminal like him?
I picked up the phone on my desk and called the security team. “Close all the gates, we have an intruder.” I could hear the loud alarm being set off as I placed the handset down.
My mind was fuzzy as I paced up and down the floor of my office. How could I let that scumbag make me feel this way? The door of my office opened, and Arran Deo walked in.
He was my assistant that I had come with from Washington D.C. He was a military sniper and the best in his field until a grenade accident caused him to have PTSD. Since then, he refrained from anything to do with guns.
“What is it?” he asked hurriedly.
“Daxia. He paid me a visit,” I explained.
“What the hell?” Arran exclaimed.
I was so lost in my thoughts that I forgot the guy walked in disguised as a delivery man. “Call the security at the entrance. Find out if a delivery van left the parking lot.”
Arran picked up the phone on my desk and called the security team. I could hear him bark orders as I walked to the high windows to stare at the sky. He then disconnected the call and announced, “They left the building just before the alarm went off.”
“They?” I turned around and asked.
“The camera captured two men. It's hard to tell from the faces since they had caps on and lowered their heads at every camera. I will head down to the security surveillance office to see if we can get the footage,” Arran suggested.
“I doubt you will,” I whispered.
“What do you mean?” Arran asked.
“This man has unsettled me since I joined the force, Arran. He is different. He might look careless, but he planned this carefully. You will not find a trace of him.”
“What are you saying, Vance?” Arran’s surprised voice was evident.
“We have a big problem. Daxia was already expecting us. Someone in the CIA leaked the information about our mission here.” I left out the parts about how the most wanted man was attracted to me and vowed to make me his.
Arran stared at me like I had grown horns. “Did you just praise a villain?”
“No, Arran. I described who he is.” I turned around and looked out of the office window. I did not want to disclose any more information to avoid exposing myself.
“Okay, sir. I am off to the security surveillance office. I will report back once I have something,” he said before he left the office.
I stared at the card in my hands for a long time as my feet dragged themselves to the chair. What kind of sh*t was this? This man was going to mess with me. I was sure of it.
I closed my eyes, and the vivid picture of his eyes came. I could tell he was older, and his body felt firm and muscular by the way he pressed himself against me. I could feel the hard-on as he breathed down my neck.
“F*ck,” I cursed out. He had thrown me off balance for the first time in my life.
Minutes later, Deputy Director of the CIA, Rai Dante, rushed his way to my office, his breathing shallow. “Director Vance, I came as soon as I was notified.”
“Why are you out of breath?” I muttered.
“Daxia has been on our radar for over five years. No one has ever seen him. We have always worked with a blank sketch. And the fact that he was in your office means you have seen his face, and hence, it is a big step forward for the agency.”
“He was wearing a mask,” I answered.
“Any distinct features?” he pressed.
“Nothing out of the ordinary. He is male, and over six foot four. I would say over thirty-five years of age and very muscular. He is physically fit,” I replied.
“What else?” Director Dante asked while he sat down and took out a notebook to jot down the details.
“Deep voice,” I explained.
Director Dante kept writing and then he looked up from the notebook. “I met Arran along the way. He was headed to the security surveillance room. Hopefully, we can get something out of it.”
I nodded and stood up to hand him the card written by Daxia. He stared at it in shock and then took the tissues from my desk and collected it. “The only fingerprints on this card should be mine and his,” I informed him.
He nodded and then walked out of the office. Once the door closed, I leaned back on the chair in deep thought. I had come to New York specifically to catch him and yet here he was giving me a surprise visit.
It was hours later into the night when Arran walked back to my office looking amused.
“Coffee?” he asked.
“No thanks. What are your findings?” I asked.
“You were right. He left no trace. Our security feeds were frozen the whole time he was here. Someone smart is behind Daxia. Even our forensic team is surprised. They never noticed the one-hour freeze. He walked into the CIA like a boss and left like a king.” Aaron laughed out loud.
“Yet here you were scolding me for praising him,” I smirked.
“I have not seen this kind of bravery since my years as a sniper,” Arran confessed.
“He is a menace,” I stated, shaking my head.
“Why do I feel like there is more behind your statement, Vance?” His eyes bore into me.
I closed my eyes and ran my fingers through my hair.
Arron walked over and leaned down. “Vance? What is it?”
I opened my eyes and whispered, “He is out to play games with me. He vowed that he would pursue me.”
Arran’s eyes widened and then he burst out laughing. He laughed until he bowled over the desk and then walked to sit down. His eyes watered as he held his stomach and continued to laugh.
I smiled at him. “You seem happy about this.”
“Vance, do you know the kind of man this Daxia is? Psychologically speaking, he is brilliant, talented, and able to get away from everyone. But he shows himself the minute you come to New York, which means he has already investigated everything about you. He must have details or a file. He is now interested in you and has challenged you. It's a game to him.”
“I know, Arran. You don’t need to remind me of the kind of sick b*stard that he is.”
“No, Vance, I need to remind you. Daxia is now obsessed with you. He will find a way to get to you again and again. He loves the thrill of you chasing him and will not stop. There are two outcomes of this game,” Arran stated.
“I am all ears,” I stated, curious as to what he was going to say.
“You either catch him, meaning you shoot him dead, or you become his and betray the badge,” Arran announced.
“Never. I will shoot the damn son of a b*tch,” I seethed.
“Will you? How come you weren’t unable to when he walked in?”
“He had a gun,” I defended myself. “He had a gun pointed at my head, Arran.” The voice in my head on the other hand screamed, “He had two guns. One pointed at your head and the other rubbed your crotch until you moaned.”
“So what?” Arran's accusatory tone was clear.
I stood up and asked, “What are you trying to say Arran?”
He was silent for a moment. “You need to listen to me, Vance. He affected you, right? That is why you were unable to subdue him. He is a different kind of person. Lethal and seductive.” Arran’s hushed tone said it all. He was afraid to make me angry.
“Thank you for the warning,” I responded sarcastically.
Arran walked over and placed a hand on my shoulder “Vance, you like this man. You admire him. I felt your admiration for him from your tone. Be very careful. Come to me if you feel things getting out of hand. Trust me on this.”
I turned to look at Arran’s concerned face and knew he was right. I nodded and responded, “I will.”
“I have a feeling he will find a way to get to you again. You need to get more from him. That way we can have a clear sketch,” Arran suggested.
“I will,” I affirmed.
“Our surveillance cameras need an upgrade. No wonder the person behind him was able to get away with it. I have requested the security manager to have this done before the end of the day tomorrow. It's late. We need to go home and rest.”
“Is this the only information we have about Daxia? The file does not give us much,” I inquired.
“As far as I can tell, yes. That is the only information we have. But I can take a deeper look and see if there are any loopholes in the file.”
“We need to close all the information leaks in the CIA. Or how else has he been able to evade being caught?”
“You are right, Vance. Something smells fishy,” Arran agreed. “Could we have a mole? Maybe someone has been bought off.”
“Let's have a meeting tomorrow morning with the captains of the teams. I want to have a brief of what everyone is working on and be up to date on the plans. Keep them on their toes as we look out for the leaks,” I instructed him.
“That's in order. I will send the email out before I leave. In the meantime, go home, have a meal, and rest.” And with that, Arran walked out of my office.
After clearing my desk, I left the building and drove through the deserted roads headed to the apartment. Once I got home, I put a cup of noodles in the microwave while I prepared to take a shower.
The warm water warmed my body and as I closed my eyes. My thoughts went back to Daxia's voice and breath and my c*ck hardened. I cursed as I willed my body to calm down.
My hand slipped down to my c*ck and I grabbed it, a moan escaping from my mouth. It felt so good as I remembered how his body pressed me down. Was I gay? How could I be attracted to a man? And a criminal for that matter? Yet the thought of him made my body burn with need and desire.
I turned on the cold water, but my c*ck still remained hard. I rubbed it, moaning and grunting until my body shattered in the release as come spilled down the drain.
I stood in the shower with my head pressed against the tiles as the freezing cold water ran down my back. I was screwed. Arran was right. Daxia had messed with my head.
I finally got out of the shower, got dressed, and sat down to eat the cup of noodles. I was lost deep in thought playing the scenes in my office through my mind when I noticed that Daxia had placed his hand under the table as he leaned over and pressed his body against mine.
Picking up my phone, I called Arron. He answered on the first ring. “Vance, are you okay?”
“Yes. I need you to sweep my office for bugs first thing tomorrow morning,” I instructed.
“You think he left a bug?” Arran asked.
“I am sure he left a bug. Under my desk near the chair. You will find one there,” I explained.
“Wow, the two of you really-” Arran stopped speaking when I cleared my throat.
“Have a good night, Arran.” I disconnected the call before he could say any more nonsense.
After the meal, I got into bed. My body felt tired as I slowly slipped into a deep slumber with thoughts of Daxia and the way his body felt against mine.
