PROLOGUE

It was a big mistake. He should never have done that.

The lights went black then he felt the air escaped from his house. They have come, finally. "Arrest him!" The Keepers positioned themselves around the First Inventor's house.

His helper moved closer to him. Despite the darkness that surrounds them, he saw his helper's worried face. They were in this together. But he need his helper free and alive. "Master, you should run too. I'll protect you." He gave his helper a wary smile. He saw this coming. He prepared for this day. Around them was nothing but chaos but then he looked calm. This must be it, the ending.

He placed Pen inside the Golden Box. The helper looked confused but the First Investor looked decided.

"Get this." He gave the Golden Box to his helper. Then he made a swift motion in the air and a Golden Ticket appeared. He gave it to the helper. "Use this to leave from here. The Keepers will be sent downtown by midnight to collect the Sinners. I've prepared everything for you. Show this ticket to the Third Transporter. He will help you. Make sure to keep yourself from being caught. Keep Pen safe. Someone will come and protect her. Until then, don't lose her."

The helper looked scared but knew that what the First Inventor said must be done. "Please be safe, Master."

He just nodded. "Go."

The helper gave the First Inventor one final look then run away. The moment the helper left, the door opened and the Keepers hurriedly entered.

"Search for the pen! I don't care if you turn his house upside down just find it!" The First Keeper savagely looked at the First Inventor. The First Inventor took one step back while the First Keeper took one step closer to him.

"You were wrong for creating that pen. You knew the rules. We have to keep you."

"And you were wrong for siding with the Punishers. You never learned."

"Stop! You have the right to-"

Then there was a loud bang.

Out with the shadows of the bushes surrounding him, the helper stopped running and looked back at the Master's house. The helper went blank for a moment but then continued running again. There's no time left to waste. If the Master gave up everything for the pen, the pen must be protected.

The helper knew the First Inventor would be punished heavily and it's worrying but there's no choice but to continue running away and leave. The helper must fulfil the master's order. The pen must be kept safe and far from there. It should never come to the hands of the Punishers. It would be the only way they could continue to exist.

The helper gave the Golden Box one swift look then started running again. The time is running fast. Downtown is near. The pen will be safe. They will be safe.
