Left with nothing

Helene has stabbed her stomach repeatedly. Most likely for the same reason all the other girls in that cold and dark dungeon. After laughing, Keita's furry flared.

"Arcione! Or whatever god decided to resurrect me. You can hear me can't you?" he shouted towards the sky. "I curse you! Fore giving me these damned life. I curse you! I will kill you. Don't you ever forget it. I will kill every damn god for doing this to me. For doing this to Helene. Have I been given life only to bring suffering to those I love? Or to suffer myself? Answer me!" his threats remained unanswered. "I will not rest! I will not rest until I found you all and kill you! Do you hear me? If you don't give her back, you are all as good as dead!" he continued.

Keita's madness and anger were replaced with grief. The tears wouldn't stop. He hugged Helene's corpse.

"Give her back... I'll do anything... Anything! You can have me, so give her back..." he pleaded crying.

No one answered and on one listened. Keita for the first time in his life, felt like he couldn't go on. That he wasn't able to. Every time he thought of the future, Helene was by his side. What was he supposed to do now? The last reason for him to live just disappeared.

He looked at the dagger. The one Helene used, to take her own life. Keita pointed the dagger to his neck.

'Just a small push. Just a small push and all of this will be over.' he thought.

He felt the dagger's tip digging his skin. A drop of blood making it's way down his neck.

"Come on coward! Do it! Do it!" he shouted.

Keita took a deep breath and closed his eyes. But he couldn't do it.

"I'm sorry... Even though I promised we'll always be together... I can't follow you..." he said.

'Even though I wanted to live without looking back, all that came out of it in the end are tears and regrets. If it's going to be like this... It can all disappear.'

It was almost noon. Keita was still in grief when he heard the sound of horses coming his way. He paid no attention to it.

"Hey you!" he heard a man's voice.

Keita didn't lift his head.

"That doesn't belong to you! Return it immediately!" the man continued.

'That?' Keita thought and finally raised his head.

The man was ridding a horse and was surrounded by twenty guards. They were obviously elite warriors, wearing magic items, plate armor and chain-mail. All of their weapons looked to be magical as well.

The man who spoke wore expensive clothes and his sword was masterfully crafted, with the symbol of the Shierna flag on the pommel. He obviously took his appearance into more consideration than his combat abilities. He didn't even wear armor. At this moment, he was pointing at Helene.

"That... you mean..."

"That corpse! It is the property of the Shierna kingdom. You killed Lord Abot didn't you? Which country send you?" the man on the horse said with an authoritative tone.

'What is he talking about?' Keita thought, confused.

"There is no use playing the fool. You knew what Lord Abot was doing! He was a convenient man. Because of his abuse, all the women died with regrets and despise in their hearts. Just a little more and one of the corpses is going to turn into a Demon. But I won't let you have the discovery! Do you even know how much I have sacrificed for this research? Because of me, humans will finally be able to predict when a Demon is born. Now, return that to us and quietly give yourself up, or else you will be a new research subject soon enough!" the man said.

"Ah, I see. That... you mean that. Property... Yeah... I see."

Keita left Helene to the ground. He raised to his feet and drew his blade. With no warning, he attacked the closest of the guards.

"I see, I see. Yeah, that... I see. Yeah."

With one swing, he cleaved the guard in two, along with his weapon and armor.

"You said that and you meant Helene. Helene... I see... It was an experiment... Abot was convenient... I understand. Yeah."

"Capture him!" the man said.

Keita was surrounded by all sides. The guards slowly approached him.

"Yeah, I should try that. Good idea... Kaito and Raijeto were doing it. But I don't have a second blade. I'll just use the sheath. Yeah, that will be a good test."

Keita held the katana in his right hand and the scabbard in his left.

"But I won't be able to use Shroud on the sheath. I guess it's fine. I'll just test it out."

"What is he saying?" one of the bodyguards asked.

"It's too late to beg for your life now!" another one said.

"Just a madman's mumbling. Pay no attention." a third responded.

Keita couldn't hear them. He was just checking his grip on the scabbard. When he lifted his head, he leapt to one of the guards with no hesitation. He hit him as hard as he could with the sheath, ringing his helmet like a bell. The guard fell to the ground, unable to get up.

"No, no, no. That's wrong. I can't let them off so easy."

With a swing of his sword, he cut a guards hand, moving to the next.

"That's better. Yeah, that's what I will do."

The next guard was missing his legs. With a horizontal slash, he took the eyes of another.

"Hey, this is fun! Why didn't I want to do this anymore? Ah... Yeah, Helene. That's right. Yeah..."

He cut arteries and limps. Not stopping even to catch his breath. Dancing on the field from target to target.

"Come on, you can do better than that right?"

He teared another's eye with his bare hand.

Among the screams of his victims he could hear the man on the horse shouting orders.

'Why is he just standing there and pushing people around? Is he not going to fight?' Keita thought, as he hit a mans tremble with his sheath, popping his eye out of the socket.

Finally, there were only two people left alive. The man on the horse, had stopped talking. Fear and despair have taken root in his heart.

"You... you seem familiar. Have I met you somewhere?" Keita asked the last guard.

"I-I am Brend Raigon. Y-you will not pass me!" the guard said with a shaking voice. He held his spear in front of him.

"Raigon? Then, do you know Kaito Raigon?" Keita asked, amused.

"He is my uncle..." Brend responded with a slight hesitation.

"Haha! What a coincidence! Then that means you are my cousin." Keita said smiling. "Congratulations. Since you are family, I can at least kill you quickly." he continued.

"Wha-" Brend tried to ask, but couldn't. His throat was cut and a torrent of blood was spilling out.

The rich looking man, kicked his horse.

"You are not getting away." Keita said, still smiling.

He threw his scabbard, hitting the man on the head. He fell off his horse, breaking his neck on impact. Keita approached.

"What... Already dead?" he asked, slightly pushing the man with his foot. "Tch!" he clicked his tongue. "I'm beginning to feel like shit again."
