SINCE THE DAY I MET HER

“I am sorry. I am really sorry I am in a hurry,” she apologized when she crashed into a human-wall in her clumsiness. “It’s fine,” he said and turned his heels around to leave the place, but her meek yet hesitant voice made him stop in his tracks. “Hmm… Can you tell me where is freshers hall?” she asked lowering her head as she clutched her shoulder straps tightly while looking at him with her small almond eyes making his heart skip a beat. “Follow me,” he said she nodded. Soon they reached the freshers' hall. Giving a small smile to him, she went to an empty seat and settled there, while he went to the boys’ side and sat in his seat. But unknown to her, the eyes of a certain person remained on her whole time. He watched her every action which amused him. She is clumsy, stupid yet she looked cute. Her actions caught his eye as she stole his heart but only to be broken. —-------- “Pritam, You have to help me in finding his feelings towards me,” Shristi requested him, making his heart bleed in pain and agony. Gulping the lump that formed in his throat, he said, “I will,” “Thank you. Ok bye. It’s getting late,” she said and left. Breaking his heart into million pieces. Indeed, it’s late for him. If he said his feelings earlier, if he was close to her, if he was outspoken with her, maybe he would be the whom she loved. But it’s already late. In the game of time and fate, would she recognize his love? If she does, would there be any obstacles? Can their love meet the skies? To know the answers read the story of Pritam Gupta along with his clumsy beauty Shirsti Sharma.

SAD REALITY

I asked for her response but received a shocking answer from her. I was relentless after seeing that response.

"I should have cleared it when I had a doubt, but I wasn't so sure about having a crush on me! " she said.

That made me feel better for a while, but even though it was a good vibe, the next one tore me apart.

"Now you know it, what do you say, " I asked.

"Here's the thing, Pritam, I think I'm in Love with someone else, and I should have told you sooner," she said, shattering my heart into a million pieces.

After seeing that reply, my world just twisted upside down for a second, and I lost my mind.

"you're not going to say who he was?" I asked with a curious tone to know who he was and why I was not better than he.

I was thinking about ending my relationship with her, which is one-sided.

I no longer can express how I felt for her, and it's all a waste of time.

"No, I thought you could help me as a friend though I didn't expect this one sooner, so I hope you understand," she muttered in a low voice.

After my grievance of hoping that she loves me in return, I ended that conversation with peace by wishing her good luck.

It was my first rejection though I have never experienced this kind of feeling in my life.

It was like I could use a friend at that moment, but I did not have any close pals with whom I could share my issues.

I was annoyed and upset at that moment. I was never in a relationship.

I was raised to pretend that someone else is excellent at doing things I can't do since I first began to grasp the world around me.

I had never developed any feelings for anyone before shristi came into my life.

But it failed, also I adored her as a girl with due respect.

Everything happened so fast in six months that I was bewildered. What am I supposed to do if my luck isn't on my side?

Later, I felt humiliated for what I had done, and our friendship was no longer as strong as it had been.

I made an effort to move on from the tragedy, but seeing them together made me sad.

It would be more difficult to live if someone abandoned us after knowing that they mean so much to us.

But, we're excellent friends, I figured I'd give her a present for her birthday and then go back to being friend zone without discussing the relationship stuff.

After a few days, we were sitting next to each in the laboratory

We pretended as if nothing had occurred, and I noticed how sorry she was for rejecting me.

"Hey, how's it going? How are you doing, Shriti? " I said.

I attempted to speak first because she appeared to be waiting for me to initiate the discussion.

She answered, "Umm, nothing..nothing much."

"Are you all right?" I inquired.

"I'm OK, pritam," she said, "now let us get back to work."

We pretended nothing had happened, but the humiliation was eating me alive.

She was attempting to concentrate on her studies, but it appears that I am taking it too seriously.

It was difficult to lose someone who meant a lot to us, it was like losing ourselves.

I wanted to get her a personal gift for her birthday, but I couldn't afford anything extravagant.

A book is the best present we can give when we wish to say something to someone.

I'm not sure what Amith would give her as a gift, but I don't mind because she might be in love with him.

I desired to let her know how special she was, but not mean to compete with him.

Someone called my name as I was thinking about this.

"Hey, what's up Pritam?" someone called my name.

"Hey nothing much", I replied.

It was Arun, one of my friends, who astonished me by stating.

When Arun expressed worry for me, I was relieved that at least someone was concerned about this strange boy.

"Arun, I'm sorry. I'm fine, my friend; I was thinking about something ", I replied to Arun.

"I'm sure that's about a girl, right?" Arun speculated.

He surprised me again by mentioning what I was doing, which he should have guessed because he's in my class.

"How can you tell?" I inquired, a smile on my face.

He went on, "You think no one in the class noticed how much you adore a female in our class?".

He must have known already it was Shristi.

"well! If you knew who it was, why are you playing games with me?" I stated.

"Pritam! I'm joking, but I was also concerned about you ", Arun explained.

"What are you talking about?, What exactly are you talking about, Arun? I don't get it ", I inquired.

"I know what I'm talking about, Pritam! , it is about you and Shristi ", he said.

"What evidence do you have that it was her ? did you make a guess? "I enquired.

"Pritam, not only me, but the entire class knew," he said, "but what I mean is that you deserve her more than anybody."

I was perplexed as to why he was so concerned about me. That's when I realized he was my true friend.

I bought a gift, before the day of her birthday it was the book.

Finally, on the day of her birthday, I came very early and placed that gift in her place on the bench.

I settled in my place and started to watch the gift so one could steal it.

Everyone started to enter the class Shristis's friends came first before she arrived.

Sadly, she came very late to class and went to her place and her friends handed her the gift.

When she questioned who presented it to her, no one answered, but she noticed me and smiled as she sighed thanked me.

She distributed sweets to everyone in the class including me, but I asked for more, she smiled and gave me another and said that one for the gift.

Later in lunch, she gave her friends a treat, but I was not included because I don't want to.

That day was not so bad, she texted me at night by saying she liked my gift.

The next day she came with a pale face, I thought my gift might create her trouble.
