Recruit

The elf smiled with expectancy towards me but I merely narrowed my eyes at his arrival. He seemed familiar but I could not recall where I last saw him. Carmilla got up from the bed and moved to the side, gesturing for the doctor to inspect me. The doctor set up his equipment while introducing himself:

"Good afternoon Adam, My name is Remy Ebon and I am the doctor who has been tending to you during your comatose period. I would like to check on you if you don't mind." I looked at him sceptically before nodding.

"No problem, it's your job after all."

Remy checked up on me for a few minutes and concluded that I had no problems with my body. I stared at his eyes the entire checkup as that seemed to be what stuck out to me the most. He finished his procedure and then proceeded to take out a card that he polished on his shirt before flicking towards me with enough power to amputate a limb. I didn't react much to it seeing as how he had no malicious intent with the throw so I merely caught it between my fingers. I inspected it before reading what was on it.

Ebon Order

Shadow Operative: Responsible for espionage missions, gathering intelligence, and executing covert missions while remaining undetected.

Midnight Wraith: Specializes in nighttime infiltrations, sabotage, eliminations, and secretive missions.

Shadowblade Infiltrator: Mastery of disguise and deception, they infiltrate enemy structures for information extraction and disruption.

"Which one of these are you, also, I don't understand the purpose of this card. Seems pretty lethal, don't you think." I said to him threateningly while showing my bloody finger. Carmilla released a killing intent towards the doctor while Richard looked on from the sidelines.

"Calm down there, those are only given to people who are strong enough to join our ranks so that means that those cards should pose little threat to you despite being imbued with dark magic. I looked towards him with my patience dwindling before saying:

"Only one question was answered, I want to know which rank you are good sir." He laughed at my provocation before saying:

"I'm a Shadowblade Infiltrator, pretty obvious. Our organisation has had its eyes on you for a while and we would like to recruit you, of course, refusal is not a choice since you know our name now." I threw the card back to him with more force than the initial throw, which he then caught effortlessly and slid into his breast pocket.

"I knew that it was strange that no one knew the name of your group despite being known everywhere. You kill those who know your name if they do not join your ranks." I said to him while dropping the temperature in the room considerably, far more than what I could do previously.

"Also I remember where I last saw you, you are the one who spied on me during the full moon." The elf was silent as he threw clothes at me before gesturing to follow him. I put on the clothes but didn't follow him because I didn't know his intentions. He stopped before looking at me with a friendly smile on his face before saying:

"I tried doing this nicely but you are quite stubborn, like a mule." He removed his coat and laid it down slowly before throwing a knife at me at immense speeds which were hard to track. I expected the attack so I tried dodging but I couldn't move so I looked down to see my feet stuck to my shadow. I brought my hands to prevent the attack from hitting my face but it didn't seem necessary because my locket transformed into the hexagonal trinket that spread out its pieces into a shield that blocked the attack.

"Interesting, I don't want to kill you. Please reconsider your choice, Adam." I ignored him while removing my feet from the trap and when I did, I brought the trinket to my hands and while it was flying to them, it transformed into a gray sword with a blocky pattern and a blade with a slight blue hue. I then launched forward initiating my attack and swung it down.

Yeah, antagonist making an appearance

Look forward to it
