New Friend

Carmilla went about her day like always, either sleeping, training, drinking, or taking care of the egg and she spent enough time with Adam that he gave her a nickname. Today she wasn't doing much of anything and instead was lazing on her bed while staring at the ceiling. "Milly! Where did you put the egg? "When she heard Adam ask that question, she got a bit worried since the egg had been in the same spot since they got it except for a few times when they would test out different things.

What they were able to observe from the few experiments is that it is resistant to cold environments and reveals serpentine scales when submerged underwater. When exposed to hot environments, it excretes a layer of cold mucus that protects it from the heat, and from that, they were able to deduce that the creature inside it was reptilian. All of this was recorded by Adam but no matter how much they thought, they couldn't find any memory of an egg that had those characteristics, but that didn't matter right now as the egg was gone.

Carmilla quickly jumped out of bed before running out to find Adam looking around the hut for the egg. The hut was pretty small, so an egg as big as that was not that hard to find. Carmilla quickly ran out of the house to find the egg. She looked everywhere but couldn't find anything until a wave of the ominous energy spread out towards her. She at first thought that there was a battle between some mutated beasts, but the wave felt different, and before she could even react, she saw Adam dash out of the house at immense speeds leaving a trail of ice behind him making the nearby plants freeze before visibly crumbling.

Furthermore, she ran after him and because of her breakthrough, she was able to catch up to him fairly quickly before leaving him behind. She finally reached the source of the energy, and she saw the egg hatching while releasing an ominous energy with each crack that made its way upon it and she suspected that the egg was attracted to this part of the forest as the energy is abundant here. This energy attracted multitudes of mutated monsters and beasts alike. Adam finally caught up and didn't hesitate to let out a strong burst of ice in all directions, knowing that the egg could handle the temperature. Carmilla was affected by this, but due to her power, she was able to persevere before steeling herself and making her way to the egg.

As she got closer, the energy attempted to corrupt her and mutate her, but Adam caught sight of her and conjured two masterfully made hooks and ropes with separate joints that wrapped around her and the egg. He brought her into his embrace and held her by the waist before leaving the area that had large amounts of energy and making their way back to the hut.

As they made their way to the back of the hut, the egg seemed to be on the verge of hatching. Adam erected a strong barrier of ice around it just moments before the egg hatched. When the egg finally hatched, a roar escaped the barrier, and it cracked and broke from the sheer frequency of the roar. The creature that hatched from the egg was more or less what they expected. The creature eyed them for a bit and was about to attack them when it seemed to recognize them and cautiously walked up to them before seemingly gesturing to them to follow it into the house.

They couldn't quite sense the creature as though it was not there in the first place, but they could somehow see its appearance vaguely. As they followed it, they could tell it was leading them to the hut. They entered the hut behind it and saw it sprawl itself on the table it was on for the entire time it was in their care. It looked at them for a bit before sticking its head out to them and closing its eyes, as though waiting for something. They both reached out their hands before touching their heads. All of a sudden, a wave of information flooded their heads before they could finally see the creature in front of them.
