I walked around the bar for a few hours, not that I expected any info, but I was blessed it seems because there was a mercenary hired by Sycamore who was lazing in the bar, completely drunk. I approached him in a friendly manner wanting to blow off some steam, instead, the man I talked to had all the info I wanted.

I heard from this man that Sycamore is the son of an influential tycoon in Silvandria and some parts of Vertantwild, the home of the druids. His name is Cyrus Laurentio, a name well-known throughout Yuggoth. He is a man who is respected and feared as he was the general in the fight for Silvandria 300 years before the current war. He is said to possess enough funds to house the queen for 20 years, and after hearing all of this, I felt that it was not impossible to launder some funds without him noticing, but I shook off those thoughts because I was raised to be a righteous man by my late mother.

I listened to him blabber about personal matters, but I simply walked away. I entered my room and stripped down to underwear due to the heat. I brought out my locket in an attempt to get a better feel of it, but I failed dismally. I felt a connection to the trinket, but I couldn't figure out how to control it and it annoyed me. Since young, I have been in control of my abilities far better than others, and despite my modest upbringing, I couldn't shake my superiority complex.

I calmed myself and tried to recall the feeling I get whenever I use it. When using it, I feel strange because whenever performing some activities that go past human capabilities, you often draw mana from the world core, but whenever using this trinket, it's just like using an ordinary weapon, but I feel a strange connection to it. I closed my eyes and attempted to visualize the sword it transformed into before.

It didn't work, but I instead remembered a method people use whenever they don't have control over their artifacts. When you reach a bottleneck in your control, attempt to use a different form of output for your mana, for example, honing your mana into a certain body part or weapon rather than exploding it from your core directly. This method is popular but difficult since we extract mana from the world's core into ours before bringing it out, but it is recommended to learn how to store mana in your core for extended periods so that you can circulate it through your body. This is a method used by the minority since the effort required for the circulation of mana is unbelievable and it is possible to die from mana exhaustion, which differs from drainage which only puts your body into a comatose state for the recovery of mana.

Even I don't use this method since I never received much training in this prospect due to my battle prowess which outshines my mana control, but I felt that it was possible since this trinket doesn't use mana. I tried to transform it into its hexagonal shape as a starting point. I went at it until night came before I finally succeeded in taming it. After doing so, I watched it turn all of its pieces rapidly before it shot out into a white light. It broke into many pieces before arranging itself to form a word mid-air.

When that happened, I felt as though I could control it like an extra limb. I made it turn into a sword, two daggers, and finally the locket once more. I liked the locket, but I liked the idea of keeping it hanging on my ear as a replacement for my bland earrings. I didn't want to lose the earring buff, so I made it hang on the earrings, and I felt I looked beautiful or rather, more beautiful than I already was. I laid down on my bed after a long day, but I quickly rose to record the info I received from the drunk mercenary and that is when I heard a knock at my window. I spread the curtain to reveal Milly with a wide smile on her face.
