Are you ready to embark on a new adventure to a high school campus with teen werewolves, where the competition is not between Alpha and Alpha for the territory, but an Alpha and a Sigma- or are they even competitors? David Matthew, the Alpha-in-training of the Eclipse Pack has been preparing to take over the leadership of his pack and over the disputed Crescent territory by fighting his prime enemies- the Alphas of the Orion and Moon packs. But his expectations are largely subverted when he finally comes face-to-face with the rumoured Alpha of the Moon pack for the first time, Nora Rovery. _ Nora Rovery has led a mostly secluded life uptil now- scorned by her father, disregarded by her mother and her existence largely hidden from the public eye, under a carefully-crafted web of lies. She has understandably set high hopes for her first day at the new high school- which promptly seems like a bad idea within the first thirty seconds of encountering the school bully, David Matthew. Come along on this ride with David and Nora, who are born to be enemies, but end up forging their own path, true to their rebel spirits.
"Nora! Princess, let's go back home. Daddy is here to pick you up, baby!'
The voice was not only tender, but each of the words strung together to compose the sentence had been delivered in the most caring voice possible according to everyone else standing there at that time, but for Nora. For Nora, it was a command mixed with the fear of some unknown guilt for which she had been caught red handed, and now she did not have any other option of presenting any witnesses in front of her father to save her neck from conviction.
As soon as the voice registered in her mind, the words she was planning to speak paused in her mouth as she felt a strong grip around her neck without literally anything being present there.
She was so caught up in her own thoughts, that she was not even able to realise that it had already been more than five minutes after Frederick had issued these orders in the perfect impersonation of a doting father. In the meantime, everyone had politely extended their greetings as well, and he was now standing just by her side. Placing his hands on her shoulders, he spoke once again ;
"Nora, is there something wrong baby??"
"No...no daddy! Nothing is wrong, it's just… it's just that…"
"It's just that she is wondering how she will be able to adjust in the dorms. They are really quite small, uncle, with only the presence of basic amenities!"
Louis spoke over Nora while her words displayed her suddenly depleted vocabulary, before Frederick could doubt anything due to Nora's stuttering. He finished her sentence beforehand so that he could save her from suspicion, even though he really wanted to ask Nora if she really wanted to go home or not , because of the doubts emerging in his head after observing her expressions.
"Ahh, I see! Don't worry about that, kiddo. Your father and I, we are here for that purpose only. I am almost seventy percent sure that you don't have to bear with these tiny dorms; after all, Royals are the chosen ones and they are never supposed to compromise!"
It was Francisco, Louis' father, who had just arrived there straight from the administrative office while the other members left the room, and saw everyone gathering there.
But the moment he arrived and saw David and Robin standing there with the presence of a beta too, his wide smile faded as he continued ;
"I guess we should head towards your palace now, and discuss our personal matters with family only. Or else, there are many people around here without any courtesy, or the good sense to realise when to leave a place when they are intruding. But anyway, it is not their fault; it is the blood that is running through their veins!"
Myron knew that it would create another problem if he didn't leave right now, but he really did not want to leave without bidding goodbye to Nora. However, at the moment of the arrival of Francisco, he knew his decision to stay - which would have caused a simple problem earlier - now had the potential to summon an entire cyclone there, right at that moment.
And thinking this, he had already taken a step forward, when he heard his voice and the taunt hidden in plain sight by addressing it to an unspecified individual. His feet froze in mid- air, because even though he was going to be the target after David would reply to this poorly- masked humiliation, his presence was the only method to avoid the war right now. Because the moment David would counter Francisco, he was bound to put everything on Myron, by saying that he was saying everything to a cross-pack beta, nothing else- and why was he considering that everything was meant for him?!
But to his surprise, David turned around on the spot and started walking without saying anything. It was quite unusual according to his character that he had kept his silence throughout allegations and humiliation. Moreover, it was not the only weird thing that had happened : he had not said anything to Robin, either. And at the same time, Robin, who could not stand after hearing any comment related to blood, was also quiet at that moment and looking at Nora.
After David left, knowing smirks appeared on the faces of Fredrick and Francisco, while Louis was feeling embarrassed because of this act on the part of his father. Before anyone could say anything, they heard Frederick's voice again.
"Finally! I guess, someone has earned some sense after studying in this school- but anyway! Nora, sweetheart, let's go home or else we will be late for our lunch , so be a good girl and say bye to your friend!!"
"Fr… friend. Yes, friend. Bye Louis! Bye M- "
Nora finally opened her mouth a few seconds after her father ended his statement, as if someone had taken great pains in pulling her out of the world she was in, and had made her realise the reality of where she was and what she was supposed to do. Hence, she bid goodbye to Louis but sealed her lips before she could have taken Myron's name along with his, and started walking towards the exit before anyone could even question his presence. After spending just one day at school, she had started understanding many dynamics of the school and her life at the same time.
She always used to believe that if someone has some dreams, then they might have the stars of those dreams in their eyes. But today… today was the day when she realised that the person who has dreams in their eyes, actually has the blisters of the fire caused due to those dreams, in their eyes! Because dreams are just meant to give pain to someone- or else, wouldn't she be getting her own dream of getting freedom even for a couple of days… come true, by living freely in the dorms?
