Unlovable.

"DAMON!" She shouted. "Listen to me!"

"Oh, Caroline." He came outside of the room, holding a children's book. "What are you doing here?"

"I have some startling news for you." She told him, "It's about Stefan."

The book fell from his hand.

"What about him??"

"Alive," She said. "Alive…He's alive."

"What?" Damon whispered. "That's not possible….I saw him."

"I know." Caroline said. "But, he's alive…The magic said so. And, married."

"Don't you think i know that already?" Damon asked absentmindedly. "I was there, Caroline. I was the best man,"

"To Katherine Pierce." Caroline dropped a bomb on Elena and Damon.

"That is the last thing that would ever happen." Elena said, "Don't you think, Caroline, we would know that?"

"I am…"

"Caroline." Damon said, "I don't believe that."

"Damon….He's in England.." She said softly, "A son and a daughter…he has a life!"

"No.." Damon had the same reaction as Caroline had a few minutes ago. "That's…."

"I am going to London, tonight." She told him. "And, I wanted to…."

"NO!" He shouted. "You are lying to me!"

"I…."

"HOW CAN YOU SPEAK LIKE THIS ABOUT HIM?" Tears welled up in his eyes.

His little hero hair Stefan.

"I am…."

"Go away, Caroline." Damon turned away.

"Damon…"

"Go away." He repeated. "I can't even look at you right now."

"Caroline…." Elena took her hand, "Come here."

"Elena, I am…"

"Come here," She said softly.

Caroline followed her into the hallway.

"What are you doing, Elena?" She said, "What…"

"I believe you." Elena simply said, "If you say Stefan is alive, he's alive…"

"Then, why are you…"

"Damon will take a long time to accept it." She explained. "He is denying it…."

"I…"

"Just wait it out."

Caroline nodded, maybe Elena was right….

She should leave him to sort his thoughts out. She was uncertain about one thing though. That she would be flying to London that very evening and that's exactly what she did.

Caroline Forbes landed in London the next morning. She had the address from Jade who had gone to find her mother. She finally found the building and she stepped upstairs. She knocked on the door,

"Who is…." Katherine Pierce opened the door. "Caroline!"

"So, it's true?" Caroline said, "It's true about you and Stef…."

"Why did you come here!" Katherine growled.

"What?"

"To ruin everything?"

Caroline thought back. Jade had told her that Katherine needed her help. But....Everything was so wrong. She just couldn't understand anything.

Stefan Salvatore walked in the room with his son. Caroline almost fainted. It was true. All of it was true. Nine year old James Salvatore stood before her.

"Who's here, Mom?"

"No one." Stefan turned away, "Probably someone trying to sell something."

Caroline Forbes-Salvatore felt as if someone tore out her heart.

"You should go, Caroline."

"But…"

Stefan came out of the room.

"Why are you here?" He asked.

His voice indicated that he was angry. ANGRY! How dare he be angry at her? She was the one who had the right to be angry! She wanted to kill him. He betrayed her.

"What are you doing here?" She retorted.

"You thought I married you for you?" He laughed as if he taunted her. "I wanted to see her."

"Why won't you say anything?" Caroline turned to Katherine, "Jade said you needed my help."

"I needed your help?" Katherine spat, "I have come a long way from the vampire world, you think I would suddenly need help from the woman who holds thousands of supernaturals at her command?"

"But…"

"Get out of here, Caroline." Stefan shouted. "Just go! Nobody wants you here!"

"This is not you, Stefan!" Caroline said.

Something was seriously off.

"You think you know who I am." He asked. "Or who I was. I never loved you….or Elena!"

"Ste…"

"Even the doppelgangers need chemistry." Katherine laughed, "Only Damon can love someone as boring as Elena Gilbert."

"You know, Katherine.." Stefan turned to her, "She can't come in."

He slammed the door in her face.

Caroline Forbes walked back to her hotel room in a trance. The truth started to sink in properly. Stefan Salvatore was alive. He admitted that he never loved her. She was just unlovable.

That wasn't true, and she knew that. Someone did love her. Klaus loved her. Didn't he tell her that he'd be waiting however long it took. Maybe she was ready.
