Free After Five Years

Caroline Forbes woke up. She was in a small motel. On one of the beds. She sat up slowly, looking at the room.

She had no idea where she was. She heard running water. Someone was in the washroom. She found a set of clothes, her size, and whoever had brought those knew her choice.

They were as she would have liked. She looked at them. A box with a small necklace. She smiled widely. It was.....perfect.

The door of the washroom opened. And walked in Klaus Mikaelson. Freshly showered, new clothes.

Water dripped from his hair and neck.

"You…..you….What the hell…?" She got angry.

She zoomed towards him, "Why? WHY?"

She shouted, Klaus Mikaelson against the wall, her hand choking his neck. "You cheated…...."

"Relax, love." He smiled. "It was a plan. I was the one who had more power all along…..I knew I would be the one who could get us out of there."

Caroline still looked indignant.

"Being half wolf!" He told her.

She released him.

"Then why did you give me your portion all year?" She asked.

Confused.

"I wanted you to have the strength to talk to me." She lowered her hand. A shock. Something ran down her spine, a chill.

No one had ever done something like this for her.

No one.

"You look...…surprised." He had one sided smile.

"Because I am." She smiled back. Taking her clothes from the bed, and went to the washroom. "Thanks for the outfit!"

She yelled.

"You are always welcome, love." Klaus whispered. "Always welcome, Caroline."

Caroline Forbes and Klaus Mikaelson were sitting in a small restaurant.

"This is very good," Caroline nodded at him, "Very nice."

Klaus smiled.

"I compelled him to bring the best." He clicked his tongue. "Just for you!"

She laughed.

"Where are we going next?" She asked.

"I want to go to New Orleans first. See my brother." He told her. "Maybe my sister. Show you around the best city in the world. And…there is someone I want you to meet."

She smiled. Wider.

"I want to go to Mystic Falls first." Her face became rigid.

She had been away for almost five years, and no one, no one came looking for her.

"Just to pack up the stuff, sell the house." She told him.

"Why sell?" He looked confused.

"I don't think there is anything left for me there." She looked away.

Klaus thought he saw a tear run down her cheek.

"Tomorrow, we'll be in Mystic Falls." He told her.

Caroline was so excited to be let out of the cell, she was so happy she ran around the whole city.

Klaus followed her.

She drank through the whole city, just healing them in the end. Klaus was much surprised at this, most vampires would kill and not look back at all.
