Who is lost?

After a hard bargain, I successfully bought 2 apples and the shop keeper uncle even gave me an orange extra after my happy chat with him and that is with only one Yellow Profound coin making some of the bystanders surprised and me happy.

Although an apple is priced at 1 Yellow Profound Coin each however the shopkeeper's uncle was happily talking with me and gave me the apples at half the price of one and when I was leaving he gave me an orange for goodbye.

So after buying two apples and 1 Orange I left the fruit shop with 99 Yellow Profound Coins in my pocket and the good part is I made a connection in the city with a shopkeeper uncle who even invited me to his house but I declined by promising to visit him next time.

You see the Fruit shop uncle was a farmer in the past just like us before he moved into the city and getting to know my background he felt close to me and we became friends with a short conversation.

After leaving the fruit shop I started wandering around the city and not long after I got lost while searching for the way back to the Xia Manor and I somehow end up by a river which is inside a forest.

Also, why didn't I see any walls in the way here?

I think since the river so close to the city there will not have any profound beast in it and it's safe for me to take a nice and clean bath.

With that, I jumped into the water of the river after removing my clothes and putting them to safety.

"Man it's good to be clean." Kai announced with a chuckle as he started rubbing his body with his hand and cleaning the dirt from his body.

As a farming village that has no safe water source, for them bath is a luxury for the people of the village when they need to use the water for drinking and cooking meals and the rest for cleaning purposes.

The villagers will take a bath only when they are getting the chance and rainy seasons.

The farmers hardly clean their clothes and body making anyone identify them pretty easily wherever they go.

So when Kai saw the water he wasn't able to stop himself from diving into the water as a hygienic person when he has dirt all over his body.

"I need to dig a well in the village when I return to solve the water problems in the village." after getting out of the river and wearing his clothes Kai thought to himself with a serious face knowing he won't be able to tolerate the lack of water and he needs to solve this issue as soon as possible.

"Was I this handsome when I was 12 or is it because I am a hardworking person now after transmitting that made me this handsome?" Kai asked with a smile as he looks at the mirror-like surface of the river which is reflecting his image in the river water as he can see a kid or his younger self with fair skin, dark gray pupils in his eyes, and short black hair that reaches his neck because of the water which is keeping it down.

Although he is not that tall he can't be called short either so you can call him average and most importantly he has tight muscles that he wasn't able to grow in his previous life because of laziness or time.

"Is there someone crying?" while inspecting his perfect body with a smile on his face Kai heard someone crying and turned towards the direction in surprise before walking in the direction just to discover a young girl in white at the same age as him crying while looking at the sky beside the river making him assume 'Maybe she has lost her way back in the city and crying in fear? '

Looking at the weak back of the girl I felt back and decided to lend her a helping hand out of pity "Are you lost? "

"Who?" hearing my question the girl got startled and quietly standing up asked with a serious tone as she clear the tears in her eyes and when she spoke her tone doesn't show any indication of her previous sadness.

"I heard you crying while walking through the forest and thought you are afraid of being lost." I explained with a sincere smile looking at her back.

"I am not lost." the young girl said with a serious face as she turns towards me as I can see her face and without realizing whispered  "Beautiful."

"Did you say something?" after turning towards me she didn't have much change in her expression as she observes me before asking with the same serious face.

"Nothing." quickly shaking my head in denial I asked her with a confused face "If you are not lost can you tell me why were you crying a while ago?"

"I wasn't crying." at first she had her eyes wide open in surprise hearing my words but soon after she replied with a serious face showing hostility towards me for some reason.

"Yes you were and I heard you loud and clear that is why I came here in the first place." I announced with a serious face without giving in to her lie.

"Fine I was crying but it's not because I am lost and scared but I am sad." with an angry shout the girl in white replied not being able to keep her lie any longer.

"So why were you crying?" I asked with a curious face as to know what has made a girl as beautiful as her with has a serious and string upfront girl as her sad.

"Why should I tell you?" she asked me with a serious tone.

"Come on don't be like that tell me why are you sad maybe I can help besides mother told me if you share your sadness it will be lite and you will feel less sad." after all this, I need to know her reason.

"Really? Did your mother say that?" hearing my mother's words he expression became a little soft before she asks me in hope.

"Yes and if you don't believe me you can also ask my mother when we return to the city." I replied with a serious face putting my hand on my chest in promise.

"Fine." she said after a sigh before telling me with a sad tone "I am sad because my mother has gone very far away leaving everyone in our family behind."

'So she is sad and crying because her mother is dead if that is the case I am unable to do anything to help her.' I thought with a sigh as I clean the water in her eyes "Don't be sad because even if your mother is no more with you I am sure she cares for you and your family from wherever she is right now."
