Chapter 4 you again?
a light knock was heard on the door of the new neighbors home. A woman of her late twenties opened the door then flashed a smile at her guests, she was wearing a fitted gown and high heels, she also had short hair and she make upped .
"Nam Che Su, they're our neighbors, please come in."she said smiling
"you are most welcome"her husband said coming out of one of the rooms
' wow ' thought shina ' they've got style ' Although they were Koreans, their house was amazing. Their walls were designed and spotless, the tiles were clean and stylish, they had a queen size TV , expensive looking vases and furnitures, and the fresh scent of the air.....
"we are the Roberts, and we've come on behalf of the whole people to welcome you to the neighborhood, by giving you our home made Lemon cookies" Richard said giving them the tray
"oh thank you, look Nam Che Su, they look like the lemon cookies your mom gave us"she said smiling and taking the tray
"we really appreciate it" Nam Che Su said "by the way, I'm Nam Che Su, but you can call me Cheng, and this is my wife, Han he cha." he said
"welcome to new York City Mr Cheng" Maggie said
"kids! we have guests" Mrs Cheng called, then footsteps we're heard from the hall way
"this is my daughter, Choi Shin Rin, or grace any one you prefer, and this is my son, Han Soo Na, you can call him vee" Mrs Cheng said cheerfully
Vee?!
shina's eyes almost popped out of its sockets. Vee walked in, his hair was loose, long and curly, he was wearing a yellow t-shirt and blue jeans. His lips were pink and he dipped his hands in his pockets.
while his little sister , packed her long brown hair in two pig tails , and she also had blue eyes. She stood behind her mother and fixed her gaze on Mike. She was the cutest little girl that they've ever seen, her blue eyes, cute pink lips and her cheeks.
Vee and her were actually living in the same neighborhood, right next to each other
"I'm Richard Roberts, this is my mom, Maggie Roberts, and my sister, Sofia clerkson, my wife, Olivia Roberts, my son Mike Roberts and my daughter, Shina Roberts"Mr Richard said. Vee gave shina a mischievous smirk and the stood up straight
"Nice to meet all of you, and ,we really appreciate the cookies"Mr Cheng said
"it's alright Mr Cheng. Enjoy your cookies" Maggie said as they walked out of the building back to their house
"They're actually very nice. watching a lot of K drama, I thought they would be mean and proud and arrogant, but they are completely opposite." Aunt Sofia blabbered
"Now that everyone's here, we can all have my Strawberry cream cake that I made this afternoon. It's got a secret recipe." Olivia said smiling
which made shina to roll her eyes
"hmm . that sounds delicious" Mr Richard complemented
"um... Shina, do you mind helping me to share the cake?" Olivia asked making shina to turn and look at her
"go help her out shina dear" Maggie said nudging her. Then she signed and followed her to the kitchen .
Olivia brought out the cake from the freezer and then started cutting it.
"Bring me those plates shina" she said , and then shina obeyed and grabbed some plates placing them on the table
"you know what Shina? this moment makes me to remember when I was a little girl, my mom would always make this cake every Monday and feed it to the whole family, she believes it makes a family bond grow stronger. This cake has a secret ingredient. Love" Olivia said smiling to herself " until one day.... my mom passed away. Everyone forgot about family bond....my dad left me with my Aunt, and I had to work to earn a living... until I met your father. He's a good man you know"
deep down.... Shina felt sorry for her. It seemed like they both shared a quiet similar case. They both lost their mothers who were once a rope tying everyone together..
Olivia and Shina came out of the kitchen with a plate filled with pink creamy cake.
"smells breathtaking Olivia" Richard said kissing her forehead which made shina boil with anger. She balled her fists and tightened her grip. Her father really forgot about her mom, just like that. Angrily, Shina stormed upstairs and slammed the door which caught everyone's attention.
