Chapter 21

His Story

She grunts as she opens her eyes. Her blurry sight slowly back to normal. Aurora whimpers and squirms in someone's arms.

"Aurora? Baby? Are you awake?" Aiden's voice fills her ears.

She looks down and saw his arms wrapped around her. That means he is behind her. "I'm fine. What's happened?" She rubbed her head.

"You fainted. I think you can't see too much blood, love." Aiden caressed her stomach.

Aurora leans more toward his touch. She feels safer and more comfortable. "Where's Jake and Alex?" She looks around the forest.

"They go find a line to connect with backup just now. Then they go find water." He explains.

The girl closes her eyes, enjoying the soft touch from Aiden. Looks like night has almost come. "Do we have to sleep here?"

"It seems like it. Tomorrow we will move. We have a flight to catch." Aiden states.

"F--Flight? Where are we going?" She looks at him with doe eyes.
