Prologue~

"Is the procedure finished?" A slightly muffled voice echoed from one unseen corner of the dimly lit room. The air hung still and musty as it created a faint haze, water could be heard dripping faintly from somewhere. A single, torn-up hospital bed lay under a flickering ceiling light in the center of the room. Dark figures crowded around the bed, not speaking a word as they gazed down at the occupied bed. "Well?" The voice sounded off again, this time louder and angrier than before. A new figure now stood in the doorway, from where the voice originated, its gaze raked across the other figures standing around. "Don't just stand there! Let's get on with it already!" The voice boomed, as he stepped into the light. His eyes were a piercing yellow color and two dark horns twisted out from his head. A pair of wings flared open behind him, revealing his deep glittering red and yellow scales. The other doctors shuffled out of the way as the dragon plodded forward to firmly grip the edge of the bed. With a whip of his massive tail and a twist of his head, the dragon whirled around to face a nearby white stork; "Prepare the serum, we must show them how dangerous they truly are." The dragon sneered in the direction of the hospital bed, as the blankets fluttered. "Shh!! He's waking up!" An elephant warned as the doctors reeled backward, the red dragon stamped a foot. "I don't care! Get back over there and complete the procedure, that's an order!" He roared, as the stork bowed deeply before him, "Yes, Scorch." The covers of the bed swished again as the figure underneath moved once more, Scorch watched intently as the stork shakily carried a large green syringe over to the bed. Peeling back the blankets gingerly, a pale yellow-orange creature stirred and rose his head. He was a large, tan-spotted leopard gecko, about the size of a small foal. The doctors towered over him in size comparison. Something was.. off about the young gecko however as he shot up with a start. Rubbing an eye sleepily, he blinked around the black walls of the room. At the sight of the doctors hovering around him, he spoke up; "W-where am I?" Looking down at his abnormally long, dark grey claws his voice lowered hardly above a whisper; "What have you done to me?" Scorch leaned in closer, peering at him with slitted eyes, "Weak. Don't bother restraining him, just continue and inject him." The dragon twirled a claw in the air, as the doctors began closing in around the gecko. Inject me? Where am I? How did I get here? Why do I feel so.. strange? I need to get out of here!! Heart in his throat, the leopard gecko flung the sheets off him and leaped onto the cold, hard floor below. Breaking into a run on all fours, he pelted towards a corridor. "Stop that mutant!" Scorch cried, wings flapping wildly, "Before he escapes!" The leopard gecko never dared look back, he kept on running out of the hallway, out the door, and into the forest beyond. I have to hide, I can't let them find me. What was his name again, Scorch? I've heard that name from somewhere... The gecko slowed to a stop at a nearby puddle and glanced down at his reflection. With a cry of shock, he stared back at the strange mutant creature gazing back at him. Mutant! They mutated me!
