Shard Of Divinity

2010. The Armageddon occurred. Disasters occurred on a daily basis. Invaders from beyond the star attack the world. The future looked bleak. Then, they appear. The Gods. Deities and powerful beings from various mythologies around the world defended the world they came from. They defeated the invaders and stabilized the world, stopping the disasters. Then they left, but not before leaving gifts for the inhabitants. Sacred Ground and Temple, though they did not tell of what it contained. As centuries passed, Mankind slowly learned of the gifts they were bestowed. Shards. Appearing similar to beautiful crystals, they contained great powers but could only be obtained inside the gifts left behind by the gods. With it, mankind strengthened itself, and when another invasion occurred, they could fight against it, turning back the tide of war and sending the invaders away. The gifts bestowed by the deities were soon used by Mankind to launch expeditions, attacking different realms and worlds. Fast forward to 500 years. Kane Ruth is someone who wanted to become an Explorer, those who used their Shards to explore the world and beyond, yet he could not, for he possessed a weak body. Or so it seems. On his 16th birthday, he received a dream from a deity, but one he did not recognize, and obtained a Shard. Getting what he wished for yet troubled by the appearance of the deity in his dream, Kane decided to follow his dream and become an Explorer, hoping to learn more of this mysterious deity and the power of his shard.
