Sight

Hardly catching his breath as he woke up to his bed, choking, freezing, that's what he felt. He can see those paste-it-on-ceiling figures that his father gave him in his first grade. Cold air emerged through his half-closed window, making the room filled with chilling atmosphere. His feeling gradually calms after releasing a deep breath. He examined his room as if he didn't know the place yet. Hearing the soft whisper of the wind in his ears, he remembered his dream.

Nightmare

Every night, he dreamed of that same monster hurting the man. He knew neither of the two. That dream really bothered him and confused him. That same dream always leaves many questions in his head.

Who is that guy? Why is the lady hurting him? Why did I dream those dreams?

He reached for his phone under his pillow, trying to check the time.

11:12PM

He placed it back and then turned to the window. The cold, soft wind coming from his windows touched his long lashes. He blinked twice in a split second and watched as curtains flow along with the wind. From his bed, he can see shadows of the tree that were painted in his walls with an owl resting on its thick branch.

He turned his glance to his study table where books and papers were messed up. Crumpled papers are everywhere, smut clothes on the floor, books piled randomly, all in all, filthy.

A sudden heart attack strikes him as he remembers that they will be having an examination at seven. He tried to close his eyes. The only thing he heard was the rustling of the trees as they were hit by the wind. And with that, he fell asleep.
