Concede

Kao peeked through his watch.

3:45 P.M.

He stood up from his seat and walked up straight to their teacher, and then handed his paper. Kao felt a heavy tension. He felt like someone was staring at him. When he turned to Wan, he saw that she glared at him. Wan stood up and passed through him, handing her paper to their teacher. Kao went back to his seat, then Wan next to him.

Kao turned to Wan. She still wearing that glare.

"WHAT?!" he mouthed. But she didn't answered back. Wan looked at him as if he was a suspicious guy.

Kao sighed as a sign of conceding in their glaring contest.

"A'ight. Later!" he whispered. Then Wan's face glowed, grinning like some crazy mental.

She turned to Shane who is also done with her paper. And now, they're chatting about random stories poofing out their heads.

Minutes later, their teacher dismissed them and everybody went hype. Shouts and chitchats and laughs comprises the atmosphere.

"OH YEAAAAAAH!"

"FINALLY IT'S OVER!"

"Hey, how did you solve the last one?"

"YEY! I can finally binge watch Game of Thrones!"

Kao grabbed his stuff and zoomed out of the room. He walked straight and swift. Dodging dozens and dozens of students along the way.

He jolted when a cold hand grabbed his wrist. He turned to his head and saw Shane.

"I think someone forgot that he owed something to us," she smiled devilishly.

Shane dragged him back to their room. He shivered as he entered the room. Aircon was shut but still he felt strangely cold. He can feel the cold sweat gushing in his back.

He saw Wan in her seat, and Rouselle, Mark,  Renzo, Vee and Cath. They're in his squad. They are all chatting. Kao sat at the near chair next to him, then Shane to her seat next to Wan.

Kao leaned and rested his head. He closed his eyes. A huge silence breaks. He remembered that he owed something to them, but Kao didn't move. He can feel all eyes were staring at him in this moment. Awkwardness is eating him but he still ignore it.

Wan sighed. Kao opened his eyes and turn to them. Their gossip-hungry faces were flashing but Kao still ignoring them. He looked at them one by one.

"What?" he shrugged.

The glaring contest continues. He can't even win with Wan alone, how much more competing with seven pairs of eyes. Kao was pressured then let out a heavy sigh.

"The thing is... I don't remember anything."
