Greg looked at everyone at the table with awe and disbelief. He was at his first meeting with no one judging him or trying to kick him out. It felt like a dream come true. Finally he was getting accepted by people around.
The standing ovation was what really got to him. To be able to finally be in the midst of people who would do that without it being a mocking situation made him smile.
He looked around to see the different people at the table waiting for him to say something.
Looking over to the butler who gave him a smile and a nod, he knew he was the one to commence the meeting.
"S-shall we start?" he stuttered, getting everyone to nod and start talking simultaneously. "One at a time please so I will get everything. It would help."
The butler came to whisper something into his ears while the crowd suggested who would talk first and why.
"How about we start from scratch? Asking for their names and whatnot would really help. That way you can know who these people are and what they have to do with being present."
Greg nodded. He liked the idea of knowing the people he would work with.
He looked at the person on the first chair to the left beside him and his eyes studied the man. The man had fiery red spikey hair which seemed to mirror his fierce nature while he spoke.
He looked like someone who commanded a lot of attention around him and with his strange dressing it was clear the man was a spontaneous one.
A bandana across his forehead which covered his brows made his gaze more penetrating leaving an air of mystery surrounding his true intentions.
"How about we start introductions?" Greg called everyone to a standstill, pointing to the man he had been looking at for awhile. "Let's start from you. What is your name and explain what you do and all of that so I'll know what or who I'm dealing with."
The man smiled, his deep set eyes shimmering with an intensity that pierced.
"My name is Kieran," the man said and that was when Greg spaced out while having assumptions about the man. His rough and raspy voice carried an undertone of authority and experience, it might not be a good one but it was there nonetheless.
Each word came off with a certain rawness which captivated Greg's attention and he was impressed with everything about the man.
He could see his strong build and tell that the man was built like a very agile athlete.
"Uhhh, I stand at six feet seven inches and I've got a heavy mastery of martial arts," Kieran said, getting Greg out of his trance as he was impressed with his prowess.
"Oh please, don't get cocky," the man sitting next to Kieran said with a little laugh. His voice was hoarse as he spoke.
"And why not?" Kieran laughed. "It's not like I don't have the biggest thing here. When I set my mind to do something, I'm literally an unstoppable force and I don't yield to anyone or anything."
"You do know this can lead you to having so many dark paths."
"I can handle it."
"Yeah, whatever."
"And you are?" Greg asked with raised brows as the man cleared his throat ready to introduce herself.
"Oh, I'm so sorry for not saying this earlier, my name is Alexander Bennett and I'm from the heart of Britain."
He said that like he was proud of where he hailed from. It made everyone around him grimace.
Greg read Alexander with his eyes to understand who he was dealing with.
From his lustrous blonde hair cascading effortlessly to his air of sophistication and elegance which were distinct through his British accent, he dripped with refined charm while he spoke. This captivated the attention of everyone around him.
"So I graduated at…"
"Here we go again," sighed Kieran who rolled his eyes with some around the table snickering.
"What? You brought yourself up as an immovable Superman with muscles all around. At least I can't beat that but I can bring up my intellectual capacity."
"Whatever."
"Back to what I was saying," Alex turned to Greg who was enjoying the interaction between the two men. It was like being with friends and watching time bicker. "I graduated top of my class at the university at seventeen and ever since then I've been on a journey of relentless pursuit of knowledge.
"I also added two additional universities to the list and I graduated as one of the best graduating students at the prestigious Magnus Academy of Brilliance also called MAB, solidifying my status as the true prodigy of my generation."
"Jesus Christ, you're a braggart you know that," Kieran laughed tossing his handkerchief to Alex who tossed it right back with a smirk.
After he was done introducing himself, he folded his arms and watched the people around talk, which gave Greg the impression that Alex was reserved by nature and loved to show his confidence when given the chance to do so.
Greg started to make a mental note of the people in the room with him. Kieran was the muscle while Alex was the brains. It was all coming together.
Greg pointed to the woman across Kieran on the right side of the table.
"What's your name?"
"It's Isabella Sanchez. I am the secretary here. And don't worry, I paced my way here through determination and hard work. And sure I am not as strong as Kieran or as smart as Alex. I didn't even go to a prestigious school like Alex but I did have some level of education.
"My exceptional skills and unrivaled work ethic has propelled me to become the best in my fields and I am really happy to say that working with you is an honor.
"Also, since no one mentioned their ages, I'll do that. I am thirty two."
