The Meeting

The conference room is on the top floor of Rech. It is large, with at least five windows. The door is a two-sided door that needs to be pushed to gain entrance.

A long rectangular table seats in the middle with at least ten seats to accommodate numerous people. A whiteboard, projector, and laptop are placed at a side, giving everyone in the room the advantage of seeing what is displayed.

Morris seats at the head of the table. Victor takes his station to his left. Rachael takes Morris's right, while her assistant takes the seat next to her. Grace and John follow Rachael's assistant.

Brian and his assistant take the last two seats of that roll. On the other hand, Mr Chase and Sarah sat after Victor, while Leila takes two seats after them.

For the first ten minutes of everyone being seated, stares and glares pass through everyone. Fake smiles, nervous smiles and some no smiles at all.

The room was filled with different shades of perfume and body spray that formed together to make a beautiful combination, neatly ironed and expensive wear and most of all power.

Everyone in the room knows what they are capable of. Each of them has one or two contacts of people that are responsible for the country. Grace is new, but she certainly does know how to behave in a meeting hall filled with arrogant, proud and powerful people.

Morris studies everyone and his gaze lingers longer on Leila, who for some reason ignores the many glances that come her way as she picks up the bottle of water reserved for her and takes a sip.

Morris and Leila go way back in the day. Morris was an early millionaire but compared to Leila, she became a billionaire at a very tender age and that was possible because of the help of Morris.

It has been years since they last spoke to each other. Morris is a busy man and each time he feels like getting something he knows LY tech has, he assigns his assistant to get it.

Bang!

Everyone's eyes go to the door that flies open, hitting the walls. Nolan and his assistant walk in with Nolan having his annoying smile on his face.

"My apologies"

He takes a seat beside Sarah while his assistant takes the seat after. "I was stuck in traffic"

Nolan glances at Rachael who glares and rolls her eyes at him. She grabs Morris's hand that is placed on the table to indicate they are together.

Nolan glances at Leila, who ignores his presence. Morris glances at everyone then clears his throat then takes his hand away from Rachael's grip.

"Let's begin shall we," he said adjusting himself

"We have two projects to divide. One is a company in Japan that needs advancement in its technical area and the other is in this city but in a remote area on the outskirts"

Morris pauses for a second knowing that they have this basic knowledge as to why they are here

"Mr. Chase, Brian, and Leila have some knowledge of this company as they have been contacted privately on the matter" Morris pauses again as they all process the information

Rachael sends a glare to Leila who ignores it. Not everyone knows Leila has clients from different parts of the world, but she is well known in City Zee and the United Kingdom.

Other countries may know of her inventions, but it is not popular in those countries. "Now, I've been assigned to pick one company that would work with Nolan in this regard and the same goes for the remote area in City Zee"

Nolan's company deals with little tech creation and more on tech programming. "I already sent sample products for each of you to work on. I want to see the changes you have made to each product and as such, each of you will display its qualities to us today, explaining extensively the changes you made"

With that, Morris leans on the backrest of his chair waiting for who will go first. Everyone, except Leila, reaches out to their assistant to get the product given to them, a wristwatch, while Leila takes out her phone.

For a moment everyone thought that was her sample and was beginning to think of ways to make Morris look as though he were partial in his distribution of the product.

Leila presses and holds on her home button, and a hologram of products appears above the screen. She swipes and stops when she gets to the wristwatch.

She taps the home button then grabs the wristwatch from the hologram then places it at her side and the simulation drops. Morris admires her transportation system so those others, but remembering they are all in a competition here they have to frown. Rachael throws a daggered glare at Leila, which as usual does not affect her.

Feeling the admiration in Morris's eyes for Leila, Rachael rises. "I'll begin since Rech is hosting"

She takes her wristwatch to the board, eyeing Leila as she does so. "Now, I'll begin with the issues I found with the original model" she begins

Rachael presents for about thirty minutes before leaving the floor for the next person, Brian. It took three to four hours for the presentations to be done, with Grace as the last to present.

Once each person's presentation was done, Morris had a word or two to say countering their words or praising their observation.

Grace takes a seat and Morris sips some water before speaking, "Wonderful job you all have done with the model presented to you"

He scans everyone's faces, "I won't be making my verdict today, but I'll be announcing the company or companies that will work on the project with Nolan at the Yacht party tomorrow" Morris stated

Leila glances at Nolan who meets her gaze with a smile on his lips.
