Leila drives into the premises of Souls, a renowned nursing home in City Zee. Once she heard the urgency in Beatrice's voice, she knew something was up.
She steps out of the car, but slowly walks into the building. Beatrice could be using this as a medium just to get her to speak to the man and finally stand before him face-to-face, which she has avoided.
On getting to the reception, the air was filled with tension. Most nurses were in there staring at something. Leila is unable to spot what they are looking at because the nurses are closely joined by each other.
Leila crosses the wall and can finally see what everyone seems to be staring at with great concentration. A young man and a woman stare at them all with anger laced with confusion.
A nurse pushes the man of the hour in a wheelchair into the reception. Leila blinks a couple of times as she stares at the lady who now notices her presence.
The lady was beautifully dressed in a white crop hoodie with matching joggers and sneakers. Her hair is packed in a ponytail, but what stands out more in her appearance is her face.
Leila is staring at the replica of her face. The lady looks exactly like her, the only difference is their dress and facial expression. Leila is putting on a red suit, making her look formal but hot.
The lady looks simple but sexy. Leila had an unreadable expression on her face, while her lookalike has shock written all over her face. The entire room clearly knows that the lady has Leila's face.
The lady, seeing how Leila seemed calm and collected, decided to act just the same way. She gathers herself and walks forward, then stops an arm's length away from her.
"Who are you?" the lady stupidly asked
Everyone in the room saw the lady's question as dump because who in the country does not know Leila even outside the country? Once you step into City Zee, you would see a picture or two of Leila because she just won the top tech creator of the world.
After a long minute, Leila eventually had an expression on her face. She smiles and then turns away to Beatrice. "Who wants to check him out?"
Beatrice uses her eyes to gesture at the young man and her lookalike. Leila nods and turns back to the lady, ignores her and walks off towards the young man.
"Why do you want to discharge him?" she questioned
"He's my father, I have that right" the young man blurted
"That's not the answer to my question"
The young man narrows his eyes. "I'm Charles"
"Are you daft or uneducated? I asked why you want to discharge him and not for an introduction"
"And who are you to ask him that?" the young lady stomps towards them
Leila sighs. "And you are?"
The lady is taken aback. "I'm Mitchell"
"Mitchell and Charles, why. do. you. want. to. discharge. him?"
"Because we don't want him here any more" Charles responded
"What right do you have to do so?" Leila questioned some more,
Charles opens his mouth to speak, but Mitchell cuts in, "And who are you to ask why we want to discharge our own father? You don't look like a doctor"
Leila smirks, then walks to a single couch in the reception. "I don't need to look like a doctor to be one, dummy"
She takes a seat and crosses her legs. "I'm not a doctor, by the way" she informed
Mitchell opens her mouth to speak, but Leila beats her to it. "But I have full right to stop you from discharging him. You know how?" she stated, raising one brow,
"How?" Charles asked,
"I've been the one paying for YOUR father's bills for the past year" Leila informed
"No one told you to do so" Mitchell yelled
Leila nods. "Yes" she smiles, "No one did, but you didn't pay the bills either"
"We were out of town and could not pay the bills" Charles tries to defend themselves
"Mr Charles, I'm a businesswoman and I travel a lot, but I still was able to pay the bills of your father"
"How much is it? I'll pay you back"
Leila's smile drops, and she places a stern gaze on Charles. "It wasn't a loan, Mr Charles"
"Then…"
Leila cuts Mitchell, "Since I have been the one paying his bills for over a year and most importantly, saved him when he almost died, he transferred every right that pertains to discharging or anything at all, to me"
Mitchell's eyes grow wide, then she glances at Charles, who in turn, looks like the world is spinning. His face forms wrinkles as he frowns. "You are lying" he stated
Leila rises. "Argue that with my lawyer" and she turns around to leave
"Who do you think you are to act like the boss around here? That's my father, you have no right to take the right, we have as his children. Would you like it if that was done to you?" Mitchell yelled,
Leila halts and then turns around. "I did not take your right, you gave it to me by being careless with your father in a nursing home" she pauses
"Stop disturbing the serene environment and go back out of town, your services are not needed" she walks towards the door
"My daughter" the man of the hour calls out
Everyone takes their gaze to him, including Leila. They thought he was calling Mitchell, but his gaze rested on Leila. "Dad, that's an imposter, I'm here" Mitchell speaks and runs to his front trying to block his gaze from Leila
But despite that, her father still did not look at her face. He kept his gaze above her shoulder. Charles signals Mitchell to move away with his eyes, and she reluctantly does so.
Leila glances at Beatrice, and she uses her eyes to ask her to come forward.
