♦September's POV♦
I wake up in a strange room, this disorients me for a little while until my brain fully boots and I remember that my room burnt down.
"Thanks Maggie." I grumble sarcastically under my breath, rolling out of bed.
I pad over to the bathroom, absently wondering what I would wear.
Shopping had taken forever to complete yesterday and I still had to go back for shoes and accessories, well I could always swipe a couple of Selena's, I doubt she'd notice. She has a lot of them.
I don't feel like donning up but strangely I also feel like dressing girly, I hadn't worn a dress ever since the first night at a club and technically that didn't count as a dress so that would mean that the last time I wore a dress was when mother complained about my pink dress.
I waltz in and out the bathroom, deciding that I would wear a dress just like that to school. I bought one just like it the day before and it was decided that I would be wearing it to school.
Quickly, I go through my wardrobe and pull the dress out. I slip it on and sit at the front of the mirror, just what the hell was I going to do with my hair?
The dark green dress I have on, nicely compliments my eyes and reminds me that I'm a blonde, platinum blonde though but a blonde all the same. I forget this sometimes.
I'm tempted to tie it up in a leather strap again and I fall into the temptation, I'm planning to dress lazy anyway, at least as lazy as I can look in a dress.
I push my bare feet in a pair of flats and ta-da! I'm all set.
"September!" Selena's voice comes through the door. "Cyril is waiting!"
"Oh!" I exclaim, hurrying to grab my backpack, I hit my shins on a side table still unused to the new room.
"Shit." I swear, hugging my leg and hopping around.
My door swings open. "What's wrong?" Selena barges in and sees me hopping around on one leg.
She face palms at this, dressed in leather pants and some lacy top, her hair is stick straight today and she looks really different.
"How did you hit your leg in broad daylight?" She asks with an eyebrow up.
"It's not my fault." I whine, still hopping around. "I'm still trying to get used to the room."
"Fine, fine." She waves a hand. "You better hurry up before Cyril abandons us, the idiot is already in the car with him, I wouldn't be surprised if he did."
I laugh at this, following her out. I still would never understand her aversion to Neruda, he's actually pretty nice.
"You always complain but I don't see you taking the keys to another car." I tease.
A bangle whizzes past my head and her disgruntled grumbling floats over to me.
I laugh all the way to the car, as usual Cyril and Neruda are already in the front seats, waiting for us.
"You seem to be in a good mood." Neruda looks up at me, as I pass by his window.
"Not really." I murmur.
"She hit her leg on a table while getting ready." Selena announces, slipping in beside me.
"Selena!" I exclaim, outrage.
Neruda and Cyril burst out laughing in front.
"How did you manage to hit your leg in the daytime?" Cyril asks in between chuckles.
"Same thing I asked her." Selena shakes her head.
"Can we get going already? I didn't get hurried out of my room so that you all can laugh at me."
"Fine, spoilsport." Cyril grins, starting up the car.
I just roll my eyes, Selena brings out her headphones and slips them on her head, I find her doing this more often but I don't say anything, she's usually upset about listening to Cy and Neruda have a self absorbed conversation above her head.
I bring out my phone and get busy on the newest mobile game I just downloaded, I had to fight zombies and it was pretty distracting.
I'm right because the next thing I know we're pulling up to school, Cyril parks in his usual spot and Selena and I get out.
Cameron is just coming too and he sights me, he starts making his way over at this.
"See ya!" Neruda says to us before walking away with Cyril who didn't even remember to say bye.
I'm almost scared to look at Selena's expression, I'm not disappointed though because she looks like she's was to break someone's head.
"I'm confused." I tell her shaking my head, she had taken off her headphones a long time ago. "He's trying so hard to be nice." I mean I know that Selena and Cyril we're really close but her reactions to Neruda are just short of ridiculous.
"I didn't like him the first day, him trying to be nice now doesn't change a thing." She says drily.
"Hiya! Septe." Cameron greets, as he walks up, pulling me into a spine crushing hug.
I choke. "Um, Cam? I can breathe." I tap his shoulder.
"Hey Sel!" He releases me to give her a hug as well.
"Well what's with you today? You're extremely huggy." Selena pointed out to him, her eyes studying him intently.
He shrugs. "It's not easy to win against Cyril." He gloats.
I roll my eyes and groan. "Crap! Not this again." I complain, Cameron had won the hide and seek tournament and he'd been rubbing it in everyone's face since. "You kept on repeating it at the club."
Selena just laughs, it sounds a little forced but I pay it no mind.
"So what class do we have this morning?" I ask as we walk into the school.
Cyril and Neruda had already gone in a while ago, Zach and Ciaran were waiting for them, Nadia hanging off his arm.
"History." Selena replies, stopping at her locker, we decide to wait for her, since Cameron's and my lockers were side by side.
"I have a class with you two today." She reveals.
I grin at this, finally, it was so hard to get classes together with my twin, considering that we're in the same year, it sounds a bit ridiculous. "Awesome!" I chirp.
"But…" I groan. "It's Axel." I whine, my dislike for the teacher had increased when he made us spend ten whole hours trapped in school.
Selena gives me a look, a small smile on her face. "He doesn't like you too, don't feel special."
I just roll my eyes and wait for her to lock up her locker. "It's Axel, he doesn't like any of us, Cameron is more his type."
"But he's the principal's sex toy." Selena drawls and I choke.
She bursts into laughter at the shocked expression on my face.
"He is?" I whisper, furiously.
Cameron just shrugs, one arm thrown over my shoulder, he's being really clingy today but I don't complain, he's even more clingy in his wolf form, maybe it's a Werewolf thing.
"Mmhmm." Selena hums, nodding seriously.
I scoff. "Stop messing with me." I accuse, stopping at my locker now.
She leans against the locker after mine and shrugs noncommittally. "I'm not."
Cameron still doesn't take his arm off and I slip out from underneath his really heavy arm, clad in a leather jacket to get the freedom to access my locker.
"Why are you on about it anyway?" Cameron interrupts my next words. "What does it matter to you if he was?"
I huff and throw my nose up. "It doesn't."
"I like your locker's aesthetic, Cam." Selena notes. "Won't you help me do mine?"
"You already have a creepy design on your locker." I point out frowning, it's true. Selena had put some huge 3-d sticker to cover her locker, from one angle it looks like a skull and another, a screaming little girl with blood running down her face.
"I don't remember asking you." She sasses.
I just roll my eyes and close my locker shut.
"Sure!" Cameron agrees, chuckling nervously. "Let's get to class now." He adds, throwing a shoulder over me again.
Selena raise an eyebrow at this and I look at her blankly, I have no idea what's up with him, I'm just as confused as she is
"Have you seen Ari?" Selena asks, while we continue our journey to our class.
Other students are milling around us, either at their lockers, talking in small groups or hurrying to their classes. "Or Dane?"
"The two crazy people bet on who would first arrive at school." Cameron chuckles.
I blink and look up at him. "You can't be serious?"
"We're talking about Dane and Arianna here Ember, do you really not see them doing something like this?" Selena asks.
Actually I do. "Yup! Totally."
"Well we're about to find out who won." Selena says as we start up the stairs.
"How do you even know what classes they have? How do you know what classes we all had?" I demand, staring accusingly at her.
She just gives me a guilty look and averts her face. "Yeesh! Lay off."
