Eventually, Cat and Alex ended up standing in the doorway of a bedroom whose main focus was a grand wooden four-poster bed with silk hangings trailing down its edges. The bed itself looked like something right out of a fairy tale. It was just missing a sleeping princess lying in it under a curse and a self-righteous prince who would awaken her with true love's kiss.
No princess here. And well...the prince was more likely to kill right now rather than awaken some insipid sleeping beauty.
"You still don't get it Cat, do you?" There was frustration mixed with genuine surprise in his deep voice.
"Get what?" Cat asked incredulously.
He stepped between her legs and lightly brushed his fingers from her temple to her jaw. Cat closed her eyes and automatically leaned into Alex's hypnotic touch.
