Why not die?(2)

She intentionally dragged out her words, seeing John's interest piqued, and continued, "She's not the same as before. She used to be gentle and obedient, with only music and children in her heart. Now all she cares about is power and money. She even challenged her aunt and nearly gave her a heart attack."

"We don't know what to do with her now."

She sighed, seeming particularly regretful about Jane's downfall.

Finally, she finished speaking.

John felt like he had lost his appetite for the meal and his blood was boiling. His heart felt like it was about to burst. He immediately stood up and walked expressionlessly towards the restroom.

"Ugh..." As he approached, he heard the sound of a woman vomiting. The woman was dressed in a sharp suit and pants, with a slender figure and long curly hair scattered over her shoulders. Even from behind, she was quite charming.

"Miss Jane, are you okay?" Another woman was standing beside the vomiting woman, heavily made up with wrinkles around her eyes. She looked to be in her thirties and was smoking a cigarette, looking very seductive.

The woman vomiting paused for a moment and rinsed her mouth with water. She then coughed for a while. "Sorry, Sister Kim, I can't stand the smell of smoke. Could you put out the cigarette?"

Kim was stunned for a moment and quickly extinguished the cigarette in the ashtray by the sink. "Why didn't you say so earlier?"

The woman smiled, "It's not too late for you to know now."

Kim looked at her and asked, "Did your plan succeed?"

The woman nodded, "Yes, I'm now the vice president of Starlight and in charge of the company's two biggest projects."

Kim smiled with relief, "It was worth all your effort then. You've worked hard."

"Jane, Garcia," the two were talking when a deep, rich voice filled with icy coldness sounded behind them. Jane stiffened at the sound, but instead of turning around immediately, she said to Kim, "I've run into a friend. You go ahead, Kim."

Kim glanced at the handsome yet cold-looking man and nodded at Jane before walking away.

As soon as Kim was out of sight, John moved lightning fast, grabbing Jane's wrist and slamming her against the wall. Jane's back ached from the impact, and before she could react, John viciously grabbed her by the neck.

His face was grim and filled with a violent anger as he snarled, "Jane, you're a stain on this earth. Why don't you just die?"

Die?

Even though she had tried to erase him from her heart, it still hurt when he spoke to her like that. But this pain was hers alone - John didn't trust her and couldn't possibly understand how she felt.

"Because I want to live," she said. In truth, she hated the unfairness of it all - why did she have to get sick? So much injustice had befallen her, and her missing child was still out there somewhere. She needed time to clear her name and find her child.

"You want to live?" John's eyes filled with rage. His grip tightened, and Jane's breaths became shorter and shorter. She couldn't breathe, and the air in her chest was slowly running out. Her face began to turn blue.

Was she going to die here today?

Die by John's hand?
