"No!" Jane exclaimed in horror, her eyes widening.

John effortlessly held Jack, dangling him over the balcony railing. If he let go, Jack would fall.

Jack's face turned white with fear, his eyes black with terror. He didn't even struggle and didn't turn to Jane for help.

Jane's heart was in knots. She lunged forward to try and pull Jack back, but John wouldn't let her. He shook the little boy's body and looked down at her with a menacing gaze. "Will you tell me?"

Jane stepped back, her teeth clenched together, her eyes firmly fixed on Jack, who was swaying in the wind. "I'll tell you everything. He...he's named Simon Kang. He's a colonel, married to a general's daughter. He can't get divorced, and I can't afford to offend him. So...so I dare not say a word."

John stared at Jane. Four years had passed, and he finally knew the name and identity of the adulterer!

With a loud bang, John threw Jack to the ground in front of Jane. The little boy was scared and shivering uncontrollably. Instinctively, he wanted to run into Jane's arms, but John grabbed her wrist and dragged her downstairs, her thin silk nightgown flapping in the wind.

Elizabeth and Alice Garcia were both downstairs and were surprised to see John dragging Jane down with a stern face. Elizabeth stepped forward. "John, even if Jane did something wrong, it's just because she's young and inexperienced. Besides, everything has passed. Holding onto it won't do anyone any good."

Jane gave Elizabeth a cold look. Although it seemed like a comforting word, it was just pouring fuel on the fire.

Alice Garcia stepped forward to stop them. She had been hinting to John to visit Jane's house, but he ignored her until she mentioned that she knew Jane had a photo of her lover hidden away. He finally came over. However, he arrived at dinnertime and immediately went straight to Jane's bedroom.

They had agreed to come for dinner, but John was there to make trouble.

"John, the food is ready. Let's eat," Elizabeth said.

However, John ignored Elizabeth and Alice Garcia and grabbed Jane's hand, striding out.

Jane struggled and coughed while turning her head, only to see Jack crying and running down the stairs from upstairs. Her heart ached, "Aunt Xia, Aunt Xia? Please help take care of Jack."

In this family, only Aunt Xia truly cared for Jack. Everyone else treated him like a bastard.

"Mommy!" Jack was so anxious that he rushed down the stairs in a perilous manner. Finally, he stepped directly onto the last two steps, fell to the ground, and started convulsing.

"Jack!" Jane saw it and desperately tried to break free from John's grip. "Jack's having a heart attack. Let me go, please let me go."

She bit and kicked him, but the man remained unmoved with a gloomy face. "It's better if he's dead."

Jane's heart tightened with despair. She almost begged, "He's only four years old and doesn't understand anything. Please let me go and take him to the hospital."

However, John remained impassive and showed no sign of letting her go.

Waves of despair hit her heart, and she knew she couldn't break free. She could only turn around and shout, "Aunt Xia, Aunt Xia, please save Jack and take him to the hospital."

But Aunt Xia seemed to have disappeared. Jane didn't see her until she was shoved into the car.

"Mom, cousin, please save Jack. He has medicine in his pocket."
