Promise Ring

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 17th

Journey has been blatantly ignoring Aaron. She ignores his calls, messages, and voice mails so much, she decided to block him. She doesn't want to deal with a "fake person." Whenever he comes to her dorm, Ava covers for her. Whenever she sees him at stores, Journey leaves all together. Whenever they see each other online, Journey looks away from the screen and pretends to be doing something else. She can't handle him, not now. Not ever! How could she be so blind to not see that he was hiding that big of a secret, that he was going to abuse her one day? He just seemed so... perfect. She never wants to fall in love again. One day, Journey is on her bed, and Aaron barges in. "AHH!!" Aaron says nothing and sits on her bed. "Why are you ignoring me." Journey ignores him, and he sighs. "Journey, if we don't have trust, we don't have anything. Tell me what I did wrong." Journey looks over at his pleading eyes. "Please leave. I know your secret." Aaron looks confused, and probes deeper. "What secret?" "Im pretty sure you know your own secret. Now leave." Aaron shakes his head and gets up, frustrated and annoyed. Journey lays down and holds her legs to her chest. Was she making the right decision?

AARON'S POV

Today is his brothers last day being with him. He just left Journey's room, feeling hurt. He arrives at his dorm, and his brother is on the couch, playing on his phone. "Hey Aiden." "Hey bro, what's wrong." "Journey won't stop ignoring me. I don't know what I did wrong, she's been ignoring me since she left my dorm. After I came out with some drinks." "Well, we did talk a little. I might have slightly persuaded her." Aaron looks in shock at Aiden's sly smirk. "What did you tell her..." "Oh nothing, just that you abused women and cheated on them. Nothing special. She looks like a queen, might I add. You lost a curvy goddess." Aiden dryly chuckles, and he picks up his bags. "Good luck getting yourself out of this mess." "You said you changed.. Aiden I ban you from my life." Aaron starts tearing up a little, wiping his face roughly. "Till we meet again, brother." Aiden leaves, and Aaron sits down on his bed.

AIDEN'S POV

Aiden chuckles as he leaves his brothers dorm, and goes up the stairs. He plans on seeing Journey before he leaves. He knocks. "GO AWAY AARON!" "It's Aiden." There's silence, followed by shuffling. "What do you want?" "Im about to leave, just wanted to say goodbye." Journey let's him come in, and Aiden sits on a second bed across from Journey's bed. "So Journey, how are you holding up?" Journey sits across from Aiden. 'Perfect,' he thinks. "I've been fine. Just had to cut out Aaron from my life. Hope you have safe travels." Aiden nods and smiles, and puts his hand on her thigh. She gets up, awkwardly, and opens the door. Aiden rushes, and closes the door, trapping Journey between him and the door. "Get off of me Aiden! Leave!" Aiden chuckles low, and moved his free hand towards her body. She swats at it, but he's too strong. He aggressively massages her waist, and moves his hand up to her mounds. Journey lets out a horrified gasp. He doesn't show signs of stopping, but then the door bursts open. Journey takes this chance to escape his grasp, and sees Aaron waiting at the door.

JOURNEY'S POV

Aaron spots Aiden, and starts to get heated. "Get out Aiden!" Aiden leaves, shoving his brother. "What did he do to you?" "Molested me, but you're not any better." "Please, listen. He was lying. I would never harm a girl, and to be honest, you're my first girlfriend. I've never had anyone else in my life." Journey blushes lightly, taking in all this information. "Why would he lie?" "You're very attractive Journey. And my brother is practically a player." He takes her hands when he says this, and Journey looks up into his grey, beautiful eyes. She missed him so much. She hugs him, and cries. Her head rests on his chest, and he engulfs her body with his hands. He sits his head on hers, and they stay like that.

Ava gets back, and sees them cuddling on Journey's bed, watching the Office. "See Journey, told you it was all a big misunderstanding." Journey nods, and remembers something. She gets out of bed and picks up the little box from her trash can. She's so glad she didn't go with burning it. She decides to give it to him early. "Hey Aaron?" "Yes princess?" "I.. got you something. I want you to have your present early." She opens the box, and takes out the metal/steel engraved ring. "Oh my god, Journey it's beautiful." Journey smiles, and puts the Phoenix on his right fourth finger. He then proceeds to put on her ring. "It's like a promise ring. I thought you would like it." "I love it." He nuzzles her nose, and they continue watching tv. Ava smiles at the sight, they were just so cute together!

AARON'S POV

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 18th

Christmas is in a week, but Aaron hasn't gotten Journey anything. They're always together, and you can't buy a gift when the other one is around. He doesn't even know when she had time to buy those rings! Aaron is about to leave his dorm when Journey knocks. "Hey Journey, I'm sorry, I have to go." "Where?" "Christmas shopping." "Didn't we already go weeks ago?" "I forgot someone's gift." "Oh, can I come with?" "I'm sorry, I have to shop alone. You know, get it done quicker?" Journey looks suspicious, but she gives him a hug and tells him goodbye.

Aaron leaves in a rush, running to his car. He turns on the ignition, and drives out the parking lot. Aaron arrived at the store, pacing around. What would a girl like Journey like? She has literally everything. Aaron thinks, trying to clear his thoughts. He walks among the many stores, observing each one. Then, he finds a picture frame in a store window. It says, "Lucky to be in love with you," with a dark wood finish. It looked like nothing much, but it seemed like the perfect gift. Unfortunately, they had just sold out. He goes to a few other stores, finds the perfect gifts, but they are all sold out. He would find something so perfect, but it wasn't available. He starts to give up, thinking that maybe he wasn't meant to get something for her. But then, he sees it. In his head, he knows it's the perfect gift and that she would cherish it. He immediately leaves the mall, giddy with excitement. This Christmas is going to be spectacular.
