Day 1

I found out how to put the past chapters on here, so I'll just put them on here.

For those who just started reading, hello! Nice to read you! Thank you so much for reading!

Thanks 3000 everyone!!!!

*FLASHBACK*

Cameras follow you as you easily jump over the fence in Giselle form.

It felt ironic that Giselle was running in Giselle form.

You laugh as you feel free, the air whipping at your face, the leaves crunching below your feet.

The trees create cover as you run from your hell hole.

Bright lights follow you from above as you curse.

You decide to shift into a chetah and run 70 miles per hour for a few minutes.

Ahead you see a clearing, this clearing will give me shelter because it will be easier to run.

But as I reach it, cars pull up and block it. I stop.

"Prisoner 1922. Stop or we will be forced to open fire."

I thought. How can I possibly get out of this? Then I got an idea.

I turned into a golden retriever and laid down on the floor as I whimpered in fake defeat, waiting for them to lower their guns.

They did not.

Instead they formed a small group and started to walk towards me.

Could I turn into a bull? That might scare them off. But, they might also just shoot me dead. How about a bug? Nah, they would just stomp on me. Well... there is one more thing I could try... yes. That will do. Perfect. Go big or go home.

I waited for them to approach me before I started.

*FLASHBACK OVER*

*******************************

I sit up in my bed, a huge headache pounding my skull.

I clutched my scalp as my brain gave a large throb, and walked over to my cabinet and grabbed my Advil container, I popped the lid off and tried to pour one in my palm, but nothing came out.

Looking into it, I noticed that there wasn't any more left.

Crap. I'll have to pick some up on the way to work.

I looked over my room, my 'bed' was really just a bean bag and my 'cabinet' was really just a cardboard box in an alley.

I quickly brushed my hair with my hairbrush that I made with a few toothpicks and a sponge.

Then I changed my shirt into a cameo crop top I found at goodwill.

Then I changed my pants and put a twenty in my back pocket before making my way to the CVS nearby.

It was cold, and as I walked in a wall of warmth and cheap perfume wafted into my nose.

I closed my eyes and sighed, before making my way to the Advil section.

I've been here so many times that I knew the exact location.

Out of the corner of my eye, it looked like someone was staring at me.

I looked at them, then in my reflection in the hand-held mirror section nearby.

There was a foam cup stuck in my hair.

Crap.

THATS not sus at all.

How did I miss that while I was combing through my hair?

I pulled it out and looked at it.

There seemed to be something black and solid in it but I threw it away without a second thought.

I grabbed two containers of Advil and popped two in my mouth after checkout.

As I walked over to the dog kennel I sighed.

Where was I going to store these?

I can't take them to work, and I can't go back to my bean bag to drop them off.

As I thought about it, I passed a homeless guy with his kid.

The kid was clutching his stomach, as was the adult.

I walked over to them, and gave them the Advil.

Which now that I think about it, might not be entirely legal.

But what's done is done.

The adult looked at it, then at me, before taking them and putting a few in his, and his sons, hand.

He thanked me, and then I continued on my way.

Once I reached the dog kennel, someone screamed.

"Giselle!" I looked over, Mia was screaming in delight and she was covered in... some clear liquid. "

"Um, Mia, what's on your-"

"Nevermind that! Come on! Daisy finally gave birth!"

I gaped at her as the grabbed my hand and pulled me so I followed her.

Daisy was a beautiful German shepherd.

She arrived about the same time as I did, abused just like me.

We grew a very strong connection.

She was getting old, but somehow got pregnant anyway.

Mia brought me to a room in the back.

Daisy was no where to be seen, but there were three beautiful baby German shepherds on the table.

One of them called to me, and I walked over to it.

It gave a little yip that melted my heart.

I gave a little laugh.

Mis smiled at me.

"Hey Mia, where is Daisy? I want to go and congratulate her."

Mias face fell.

"Giselle, daisy was an old dog..."

"was? What do you mean was?"

She looked at the floor.

"No, no, no, please tell me, no, she, she didn't, Mia where is daisy?"

Tears grabbed at my eyes and my heart shattered.

"Giselle, Giselle I'm sorry. Daisy died last night during the birth."

I looked down at the puppy, picked her up, and walked over to a bench on the other side of the room.

The puppy seemed to enjoy my company, and curled up in my lap before falling asleep.

I stroked her for a few minutes, before I heard yells in the hallway, coming closer.

"Stop! You can't do this! There has to be more room for the puppies!"

The nurse came in trying to block our boss from coming into the room.

Subconsciously I put the puppy in my inside pocket.

A small lump was now in my jacket and I put my hands in the outside pockets.

"I'm sorry Natalie! But there is only room for two dogs! I gave to put one down!"

Mr. Carer shoved past Natalie and looked at the table, which now only had two puppies on it.

Natalie, Mia, and I all love animals so much.

They both looked at my pocket and nodded at me as Mr. Carer stared at the table.

"I thought there were three puppies?" He asked.

Crap.

I'm pretty sure that this is probably illegal.

"No sir. There were only two."

I responded, clutching the puppy to my side.

Mr. Carer stared at me, and nodded.

"Well then, I'll just go."

All three of us sighed as exited into the hallway.

On my way home, I took the puppy out, and looked at it.

It was a she.

She had a giant splotched looking shape on her forehead.

"Well, guess what your new name is?"

I asked her, she closed her eyes and curled up again.

"Your name is splotch." She yipped and I put her back in my warm pocket.

As I did so, I tripped right in front of a car.

The car stopped right in front of my face.

I stood up as a police officer came around the corner and walked up to me.

************************************

The police station was loud, and swarming with police officers.

Splotch was on my lap and I was stroking her.

A police officer came up to me.

"Hello, I would like to ask you some questions."

I nodded, not taking my eyes off of splotch.

"Well, for starters, how old are you?"

"16"

"parents?"

"Dead"

"home?"

"A bean bag chair in an alley."

She looked at me.

"Once your blood results get back we will find you a family."

Shit. Not only did they take my blood without me realizing, but there IS a reason I don't live with anyone.

And that's because I don't want anyone finding out my secret.

No one can know.

But, whoever shows up, well, could I trust them?

I mean, They might be a jerk!

The police officer interrupted my thoughts with a statement that was about to change my life forever.

"Oh! Nevermind! Here it is!"

She stared at it for a second.

Then stared at me.

"Um, your father is Tony Stark."

Several hours later Tony stark walked in and looked at me.

Everyone stopped.

The once alive station looked dead and frozen.

He walked up to me and shook my hand.

"Tony stark, nice to meet you."

I looked at him.

"Sup."

I mumbled.

He looked at me again.

"Come on, it's time to go get your stuff."

I looked at him.

"Um, I don't have any stuff."

He looked at me.

"What do you mean?"

I looked at the floor.

"I um, well, I'm homeless."

He stared at me.

And gave me a warm smile.

"Well then, we should probably just go right home then. And get you settled in."

I looked back up at him, clutching splotch to my chest.

He narrowed his eyes at her.

"And who is this? If your homeless then where did you get a dog?"

I looked down at her.

"Oh, this is just, um, kind of my own rescue mission. This morning the kennel I work at only had space for her siblings, they were going to kill her, but I snuck her out before my boss realized that there was a mistake in the number of puppies. so I kind of got her for free."

He looked at me.

I just told an avenger that I stole a puppy.

"Well, lucky for you, I've broken a few big rules myself. Come on, let's go home."

When I think of home I think of my bean bag.

When this dude thinks of home, he thinks of a seventy floor skyscraper building with five pools and a set of private jets and air missiles. And that doesn't even scrape the surface of his definition.

This is going to take some adaptation.

I walked through the front doors to see the whole avengers team.

I stared at them all.

They all stared back.

There was a kid in the front that was looking at me more intense then the others were.

"Hey, um, where's my room?"

I asked, I really didn't like this situation.

The kid raised his hand.

"I'll take her Mr. Stark!"

Tony looked at him suspiciously but nodded.

The kid led me down a hallway, up a few flights of stairs, and then down another hallway.

We reached a room.

It was completely blank.

There was nothing in it.

"My room is literally right across from yours. So if you need anything I'm right next door. I'm Peter by the way. Peter Parker."

I nodded and looked at the floor.

I can't believe this is happening.

"My name is Giselle Stark."

I looked at him again.

He was looking at me with the same intensity as before.

"Hey, um, can I have a hug? I really need a hug right now."

Peter smiled and pulled me in.

He smelled nice.

When we broke apart, I smiled at pulled off my jacket to make a little burrow for splotch and then set her on top of it when I stood back up, he was staring at my arms, open mouthed.

I looked at them.

I had forgotten about my scars.

My arms have so many large scars that it looks like my arm was chopped apart by a lawn mower.

Of course, that didn't really happen.

Those were all stab and burn marks.

I picked my jacket back up again and pulled it back over my shoulders.

Peter looked away.

"Did... did someone do that to you Giselle?"

His words hurt me, I just revealed one of my biggest secrets to someone on accident.

And I thought I could actually trust him.

I looked away.

"Do what to me?" I had to act like nothing happened.

And then I walked into my room and closed the door behind me.

The last thing I saw of him was a sad expression.

Why do I care about his feelings?

I pressed my back to the closed door.

In the few minutes I spent with Peter, somehow I already trusted him.

But I have to close off that trust, because trust leads to feelings.

I lowered myself against the door onto the floor, and started to cry into my knees.

I heard people knocking on the doors, but I ignored them, and eventually people stopped trying to reach out.

Because I need to be alone.

Not just right now, but I need to stay alone, for the safety of me and the people around me.
