Chapter Thirty Eight

When it rained again, Jacel pulled her hoodie over her coat. It was getting late, and the temperature was dropping. Hell, maybe she should have turned down Mark's invitation to go to the bookstore. She sighed and quickened her pace. She wanted to drink hot chocolate before dinner.

As the rain fell more and more, she started running. But her steps stopped when she saw Kevin standing in front of the gate of their house. It looks like he hasn't entered the house yet, because he is still carrying his backpack.

She watched him, who was listening to music, ignoring the cold temperature and the rain that was falling more and more. She then approached him.

"Why don't you come in? You're getting soaked."
