Chapter Seven

"Thank you,"

Siegfried looked at the woman in front of him. Benice Schift, Blaze's older sister, came at almost lunchtime, only an hour later when the man first woke up. He took a sip of his coffee. "I just happened to be passing by. It's not a big thing," he said.

Benice looked at him intently. "But if you don't pass, my brother will probably..."

He glanced at the woman sitting in front of him briefly. He put his coffee cup back down. "Yes, it could be. You came and were immediately ushered into the morgue –ah, I'm sorry. But even so, if it's not me, there must be someone else who will help."

The woman then just looked down. The news about her brother being admitted to the hospital due to hypothermia made her very surprised, especially with the news about Hailey. And she also did not expect that she would meet her supposed fiancé, who helped her brother. What a streak of coincidence.

On the other hand, Siegfried already knows that he will be meeting Benice – and maybe her family too – and he might feel awkward about canceling the matchmaking months ago. But in reality, he didn't feel awkward at all and was impressed that he was already very close to the

Schift family. Oh hell, what was he just thinking?

"May I ask you something?" he said suddenly.

The woman raised her head again. "You may, but about what?"

Siegfried noticed Benice's expression first. He considered whether it was appropriate to ask her about this. They had just met, even though they were far from familiar. But he was very curious. "Regarding the previous matchmaking, you…"

Sieg, what did you just say?

The woman smiled faintly at him. "I don't think you need to worry about it. Matchmaking is not the right way. No matter how many times I've been offered matchmaking, I've almost never done it with pleasure. So, it always ends up failing."

"Oh," though that's not really what he wanted to ask.

"I'm going back to my brother's room. Thank you again for helping him, Siegfried." Benice then got up and bowed politely.

He himself didn't say anything else and just looked at the woman, leaving him alone. He took a deep breath and left the hospital.

But before he really left, he turned around again. "I think this is the last time. Well, hopefully we'll never see each other again, Blaze Schift."

Cameron frowned when his cousin entered the room. "You're back?"

"Oh. His older sister is already taking care of him," said Siegfried, as he took off his coat and lay down on the bed.

Cameron was still watching him closely. "His older sister? You met Benice Schift?"

The man just mumbled. His eyes were already closed, and he wished Cameron could just keep his mouth shut for a while. He really wants to sleep without being disturbed by his cousin's chatter at this time. Cameron took a deep breath, seeing his reaction.

"You don't want me to bother you, do you?"

Siegfried smiled. "Smart!"

Cameron snorted in annoyance. He then turned his attention back to the laptop in front of him.

"Well, fine. Although there is actually something I want to show you. Regarding Blaze Schift and the girl you said was his ex-girlfriend."

Siegfried opened his eyes and glanced at his cousin. There was a little curiosity that bothered him, but he was too tired. For now, he didn't want to follow the man's game. "I'm not interested. Let me sleep before tonight's meeting, okay?" said Siegfried who closed his eyes again.

Cameron hissed in annoyance. "It's up to you, Sieg."

When Blaze woke up, he saw his sister sitting near his bed. Benice held his hand so tightly that the man smiled faintly. "You came."

"You're making everyone worried, Blaze. I wanted a Christmas present from you, but all I got was a call from the resort saying that you were rushed to the emergency room. Mom almost fainted hearing that, but since we only got one ticket, so…"

"Sweetie, don't nag at me right now. I'm sick," he said, stopping his sister's words.

Benice hissed. "Don't do it again. Got it? This is the last time that you will do anything silly, okay?"

He nodded obediently. The woman then touched her brother's face and rubbed it gently. It seems that his body temperature is slowly returning to normal and the doctor who examined him did not show any other strange symptoms, so in two or three days, he will be able to be discharged from the hospital. Benice took a deep breath as she watched him closely.

"Blaze, are you okay?"

Blaze nodded again. The woman tightened her grip even more. "I-I heard what happened. H-Hailey didn't see you? S-she really doesn't care anymore?"

His smile disappeared. "Benice, I'm fine. Don't worry too much. It was not because of her that I became like this. Don't blame her, okay? I was supposed to go back to the resort, but yesterday instead…" he tried to smile, but failed. "Yesterday I turned into a very stupid person."

"Blaze, don't talk like that. I don't blame her or anyone, but…" the woman sighed. "You are quite lucky, Siegfried found you. Otherwise, you might not survive."

Oh, right. He forgot about the person who had saved his life. But judging by the condition of his current treatment room, it seems that the man is no longer waiting for him. He took another breath. "I will thank him directly. Sweetie, go to the resort where I stay. You can rest in my room. It's a hospital. After all, I'm afraid that you will be a little uncomfortable here."

"Eh? You're kicking me out now? Hey, I wanted to take care of you."

Blaze is now smiling. "I know, but you must be tired. I'll be fine in the hospital. You'd better go to the resort, ne. I also can't bear to make my beautiful sister suffer with me in the hospital. So, go to the resort, eh."

The woman took a deep breath. "Alright. I'm going to the resort later. Oh, do you want to eat? It's lunchtime, isn't it?"

Benice had just taken Blaze's room key to the reception desk when she passed Hailey with her suitcase. The woman was a little surprised to see her arrive, but she couldn't avoid it either. Hailey looked at her awkwardly.

"He…"

Before Hailey could even finish her words, Benice had already put her hand on the woman's cheek. The girl fell silent. Even some of the other visitors were surprised to see what happened.

"Are you satisfied now? Blaze is already in the hospital. Are you satisfied with making him suffer, eh?" cried Benice angrily. Even her face turned red and her eyes started to tear up.

Hailey looked at Benice quietly. "B-Benice..."

Benice took a deep breath to calm her emotions for a moment. "He loves you so much, even more than he loves me. But why did you hurt him?! What did my brother do to you, eh?! Hailey Reyes: You gave him a Christmas present that he will never forget."

"Benice, sorry. I-I'm really sorry, b-but-"

"But what? You don't have any feelings for him anymore, do you? If you don't like him, you should have said it to him directly. But all you did was make him wait for you for three years. And it looks like you didn't even say anything to your parents either!"

Hailey couldn't say anything else. Benice was really mad at her and didn't give her a chance to talk. On the other hand, the resort visitors still pay attention to the two of them. Even the

employees couldn't do anything.

Then Cameron, who was kicked out of the room by his cousin, heard a commotion in the main lobby and also paid attention to the conversation between the two women. He took a deep breath. "At a time like this, Sieg instead chooses to sleep," he mumbled.

He then approached the two women. After all, someone had to clean up the mess, right? He looked at the two women in turn.

"Forgive my impudence, but if you want to fight, please find a place that is quite quiet," he said.

Benice glanced at the man who approached them. "I'm sorry," said the woman politely. But when she looked back at Hailey, her gaze turned cold again. "You don't have to explain anything to your parents. You will probably just give excuses for your own sake. But here, he is the victim. If you want to go, then go far away and never show your face in front of him again."

Benice then left the lobby. While Hailey still hasn't moved from her position. Cameron himself could only heave a sigh of relief. At least their bickering was over and the visitors had their comfort.

He glanced at the woman. Well, he had heard that the Schift family's daughters were famous for their polite and gentle demeanor, but today he saw the opposite. But he could understand the woman's firm attitude. There is no sibling who stays silent while watching their sibling being hurt by other people.

"Do you need a taxi?" asked Cameron, offering.

Hailey suddenly looked at him and shook her head. And without a word, the woman walked towards the exit, accompanied by stares from other visitors who were still curious about the fight just now.

Cameron took a deep breath. "Indeed, there are many things that need to be changed at this resort."
