Chapter 56 Back To Square One

I was eavesdropping, but I didn't care about morals and ethics now. All I cared about was how unbelievably silent one of the rooms in Clark's house was, especially when both Clark and Ian were in that room, alone I might add.

I had missed the earlier conversation but just when I started to listen, all I could hear was silence. My damn luck, but I knew that something was up. I didn't know if it was my intuition, but I could feel the tense environment radiating through the doors and towards me.

I pressed my ear against the door and soon I heard Ian talk, "this is not going to end well, Clark."

What was Ian implying by that?

And most importantly was the tone that laced his voice. There was some hint, some suggestion or maybe even a taunt, like he was mocking Clark. But what was happening? And this wasn't the Ian I knew. Maybe the recent events was taking a toll on him.
