Yeah! Here's the new chapter!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I continued talking to Saphira a little longer, but I knew my time was short, and I still wanted to try talking to the other dragons, especially now that I knew I could speak their language.

And knowing that I had to go back to school soon I decided to end our conversation, promising to come back to talk to her more.

But before leaving I told her about the Tri-Wizard tournament, saying that she was here to be part of the tournament as a challenge to the champions.

I told her that the organizers planned to place a fake egg in her nest for the contestants to try to catch, and that she shouldn't worry about her babies as they would be safe.

And I told her this because I thought it was cruel and inhumane to make a mother dragon think that one of her eggs had been taken from her, and I didn't want my new friend to suffer when she had her 'egg' stolen from her nest.

Of course, I didn't tell her to go easy on the champions, as she still had her pride to maintain, and having an egg, even a fake one, being stolen from her nest was something she wasn't going to let happen so easily.

'In canon, the one who faced Saphira was Cedric, but I took his place, and if things stay the same, I will be the one who faces her' I thought, rubbing my chin.

'What will Saphira's reaction be if I happen to be the one who tries to fight her?' I thought, smiling in amusement as I imagined her acting all big and powerful, but with me knowing that she was actually a great talker full of curiosity.

'Hmm, apart from being able to kill hundreds of people and having scales, Saphira reminds me a little of Lily'

But putting that thought aside, I shook my head, turning away from the blue dragon that returned to rest while taking care of her eggs with a happy and loving look.

'With every passing second I become more and more irritated at the stupidity of using nesting dragons for this task' I thought, frowning, looking at Saphira with her unborn babies.

From the way the wizards around me dealt with dragons, I could assume that they were all Dragonologists like Charlie.

But knowing this only made me more upset.

'I can hear them saying that dragons are amazing and wonderful, but yet they still treat them like mere creatures' I frowned.

'These men and women say they love these great creatures, but it seems that's a lie, as they still agreed to let the dragons be used as a challenge in the first task' I snorted in contempt.

But sighing I decided not to think about it too much because I might end up getting angry, and when I'm angry I usually do something stupid or crazy, or both.

'Maybe before I leave I'll leave a little surprise for these very friendly 'Dragonologists'.'

And already thinking about what kind of prank I could use to bring a little more joy to this camp, I continued walking.

'Hmm, if my interaction with Saphira was that interesting, how will it be with the other dragons?' I wondered, looking around at the 3 remaining dragons.

My gaze then fell on the Welsh Green, who was lying down protecting her nest with her head slightly raised, looking in my direction.

She was the dragon closest to Saphira as she was one of the calmest, so I could assume she was listening to our conversation, and that's why she was looking at me.

Well, not exactly to me, since I was still under the disillusionment charm, but to the direction she was smelling me and hearing my footsteps.

'Well, let's see if all dragons are as nice as Saphira' I thought, approaching the green dragon.

As soon as I got in front of her I let my feelings leak out to her, just like I did with Saphira.

"Hello beautiful lady" I said in her language.

And she just tilted her head to the side, showing a slight surprise that quickly disappeared.

"Hello" she said, before going quiet again.

...

...

...

'Well, at least she responded and didn't try to eat me' I thought sweating.

-----------------------------------

My conversation with the Welsh Green wasn't as lively or long as the one with Saphira, as most of the time it was just me talking and her listening.

The connection I created with her revealed to me that in fact she just wasn't used to talking, and was a little shy, and I found that funny.

A fierce and deadly dragon could be timid too.

Just like I did with Saphira, I also named her, and I decided to call her Arya, who is another of the main characters from Inheritance Cycle, but unlike Saphira, this character was not a dragon, but an elf.

And the reason I chose Arya is because she was a quiet, calm, green-eyed elf, and ironically she was the dragon rider of a green dragon.

And I didn't use Arya's dragon name because he was a male named Fírnen.

But after my short but interesting conversation with Arya I could see the difference between her and Saphira.

While Saphira was a curious and cheerful dragon, Arya was quieter and shy, happy to just listen to others talk.

Their personalities were different, but something they both had in common was the feeling of loneliness and sadness, which mainly came from not being able to be free as every dragon would like to be.

This made me sad for them, and so I made a promise to myself that as soon as the tournament was over, I would go to the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary to free them.

I knew this could cause a lot of problems, but they were dragons who liked to live isolated in mountains, so I didn't think it would be a problem to give them the freedom they so deserved.

And that promise would also give me the chance to see and talk to more dragons, which in itself was very attractive to me.

But back to the subject, I also talked to the Chinese Fireball, and it was an... Interesting conversation.

I decided to name this dragon of Chinese origin Mereoleona, or as I preferred to call her, Mereo.

And yes, this name was based on the hot-tempered and violent character who uses fire magic, Mereoleona Vermillion, from the Black Clover anime.

I thought it was a fitting name for such an aggressive and hostile dragon, who also seemed to have a great passion for burning things down.

'Actually I could describe Mereo as a big pyromaniac lizard' I snorted.

It wasn't as difficult to talk to her as I expected, and that surprised me since her race was known for being very hostile towards other creatures, especially humans.

But when I asked her why she was talking to me, she answered almost the same thing as Saphira, which was that she felt something special in me, almost as if I were one of them.

And again I thanked my Beast Power, as I was sure that if it weren't for it, Mereo would have tried to incinerate me the moment I spoke to her.

And for such a frightening and destructive dragon, Mereo proved to be very intelligent, even though in every sentence of hers the words burn, incinerate and ignite were present.

"Hmm, why do I feel like someone is talking bad about me?" Mereo grumbled, looking around with narrowed eyes and snorting, making a small ball of fire come out of her nostrils.

"Oh, you must be imagining things" I said looking away.

"Maybe…" she said, not very convinced.

"But well, I enjoyed talking to you Mereo, but I still have something to do" I said, running my hand over her head, "So I'll be going now, but I'll be back to see you tomorrow"

"You'll try to talk to her too, right?" Mereo asked me, and following her gaze I saw her looking at the last dragon I hadn't talked to yet, the Hungarian Horntail.

"Yes" I said, and Mereo looked at me for a few seconds and I could feel a slight concern coming from her.

"She probably won't want to talk to you" she said.

"I can be persistent" I shrugged.

Mereo then looked me in the eyes, and seeing my determination she sighed, making some flames come out of her mouth.

"Well, try not to get eaten by her then, you're too interesting to die so quickly" she said, and I smiled knowing that this was her way of showing care for me, "And besides, I still have to show you how bright and strong are my flames"

And saying this with a proud voice she blew, causing some flames to rise into the air.

"Of course" I laughed, looking at her with an amused look.

And after that I said goodbye to Mereo, but not before telling her the same thing I told Saphira and Arya about the tournament.

And seeing the large red dragon nod her head in farewell, I walked away, starting to approach the Hungarian Horntail, who was isolated in a corner with many wizards nearby watching her warily.

'Well, let's see if you are as fierce and dangerous as others say'

End.
