Land of Waves Arc

Scene begins -

[Team 7 is formed, and Kakashi shares Obito's famous quote. After numerous D-rank missions, Naruto irritates the 3rd Hokage enough to earn Team 7 a C-rank mission.]

Scene pauses.

Kushina: "Good job, Naruto! You know how to get a good mission from this old man! Keep it up, Dattebane!"

Naruto: "Of course, Dattebayo! See Sakura, Kakashi-Sensei, my mom approves. And you all scolded me for it."

Konoha 12 laughs nervously, realizing where Naruto gets his personality.

Obito: "Kakashi, you really took my advice to heart."

Black Zetsu (whispering): "Obito, what are you doing?"

Obito (whispering): "Don't worry! He thinks I am dead."

Kakashi (shocked): "Obito!... Oh, yeah. I made your advice my Ninja Way."

Future Sasuke: "You were also dumb, Kakashi. How did you not think about how he's an adult if he died young?"

Future Kakashi: "Hmm. Weren't we all?"

Future Sasuke laughs a little, and the rest of the future gang nods in agreement.

Scene starts -

[After leaving Konoha, Team 7 is attacked by the Demon Brothers. Naruto is paralyzed with fear, forcing Sasuke to step in, disarm them, and protect Tazuna until Kakashi captures them. Tazuna confesses that assassins have been hired to kill him, but he couldn't afford the needed bodyguard detail. Despite the mission now being A-rank, beyond genin skills, Team 7 decides to continue. In the Land of Waves, they face Zabuza Momochi. Sasuke experiences a crisis overwhelmed by the battle, but he regains composure. When Kakashi is caught in a Water Prison, Sasuke teams up with Naruto to break him out. In the end, Zabuza is seemingly killed by Haku, allowing Team 7 to escort Tazuna back. Later, they discover Zabuza's survival.]

Kushina: "Why did Naruto freeze up? Did he not get training, Old Man?"

3rd Hokage (sweating): "Well, Kushina, you see, the 4th died, and then I had to come into power again, and then the Uchiha massacre happened, and I was busy, and well, Naruto...."

Orochimaru (playing with his tongue): "Sarutobi-Sensei! Why are you sweating? Just tell the truth."

Hiruzen: "Shut up, Orochimaru!"

Naruto (confused): "What happened? I don't understand."

Mikoto: "Kushina, Naruto doesn't know about his legacy or anyone else in the village. Do you understand what happened?"

Minato: "Then what about Jiraiya-Sensei? He was Naruto's godfather. He was supposed to train him."

Naruto: "What? And you never told me, Pervy-Sage!"

Jiraiya ignores him and focuses on explaining to Minato and Kushina.

Jiraiya (nervously smiling): "Well, you see, I was out of the village inspecting an S-rank organization, Akatsuki. And I never got any information from the village about Naruto's training. So, I thought it was going fine."

Minato: "And why was that, Lord 3rd?"

Hiruzen couldn't answer.

Orochimaru: "I will tell you, Minato. Everyone knows about Naruto being the jinchuriki, so they hate and call names. This information was released by none other than councilor Danzo, but 3rd Hokage did nothing. The only thing he did was to ensure that Naruto implanted the Will of Fire inside him in a way that he would never turn against the village and only work to gain others' respect."

Tobirama: "Hmm. Don't disappoint me too much, Hiruzen and Danzo."

Shisui: "Wow! Now your own sensei is on the list, right?"

Itachi & Sasuke: "SHISUI!"

Jiraiya: "Shisui of the Body Flicker. They say you committed suicide."

Sasuke: "No. Itachi killed him!"

Shisui: "What? No! I really jumped from the cliff and killed myself."

Tobirama: "Who is this Uchiha, Hiruzen? I feel like I know him."

Hiruzen: "He is the grandson of Kagami, Sensei."

Tobirama: "Oh! Kagami Uchiha. My trusted subordinate."

Sasuke: "But why did you kill yourself?"

Shisui: "Well, you see, I was training, and I decided to take my eyes out and then tie myself up with a rope and then jumped in the river. I thought I would be able to get out in time, but I miscalculated, and by the time I was out of the rope, I found myself out of breath."

Everyone gets shocked after hearing this.

Jiraiya: "You really want us to believe that?"

Shisui (grinning): "Of course, I don't want you all to believe that. It's embarrassing enough."

Mikoto: "At least you are still the same old Shisui."

Future Kakashi: "You know, Sasuke, I had forgotten how Danzo was. This reminds me that if you did a good thing while being rogue, it was to kill this man."

Future Sasuke: "Feeling is the same, Kakashi."

Indra (sighing): "How are they my descendants?"

Ashura just pats him on the back.

Scene starts -

[Kakashi decides to train the team in chakra control, which will help them in fights. Naruto is exhausted, so Team 7 leaves him behind as they resume escort duties. They are met by Zabuza and Haku. Sasuke faces Haku, who imprisons him with Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals. Naruto arrives to help but, unaware of how Haku's mirrors work, joins Sasuke within the prison. Sasuke activates his Sharingan. Seeing this, Haku decides to finish off Naruto. Sasuke shields Naruto from Haku's attack with his own body. Naruto uses Nine-Tails chakra to break free. Haku dies in order to save Zabuza, and Zabuza dies while killing Gato and his men.]

Kushina: "Sasuke saved my Naruto."

Kushina starts hugging Sasuke.

Naruto: "Not fair! Me too!"

Naruto jumps on them, and Sasuke tries to free himself but in vain.

Jiraiya: "Where are your teachings now, Orochimaru?"

Orochimaru: "I am not stupid, Jiraiya. She is Kushina Uzumaki."

Hashirama: "Does the seal for Nine-Tails break?"

Minato: "No, Lord 1st. I designed it that way so Naruto can use the power when he needs it."

Tobirama: "Good thinking, Lord Fourth."
