After the soul orb entered his body again, Leroy had the the feeling of being one with it, the feeling of even higher control over mana and higher senses made his mind feel much sharper.
Strong weapons often had effects that weren't displayed on it's information window.
Leroy looked at the attributes and was even more shocked about the changes, he felt like cursing at Vlaric.
"If the soul orb was like this from the begining, things would've been much easier"

The upgrade was simply massive, all of his attributes were much higher than before, his damage almost tripled, casting speed and effects were much higher.
Furthermore, his critical rate was huge for a magic class.
But probably the best upgrade was that the orb skills.
"Tier 4 spells..." Leroy was a shocked to see the new attached skills. If he could cast Tier 4 spells... wouldn't he be invincible among players?
He was at Tier 2 already, if he called a monster inside the Unholy Domain, wouldn't it be of Mythic rank?
His soul guard has also improved greatly.
The only thing he regretted a bit was that his bracers wouldn't have a change to insta cast a Tier 4 spells.
Once his spells reached Tier 2, they would actually be considered as Tier 4.
"A Legendary Rank weapon couldn't be stronger than this, right?" Leroy guessed, he wondered what would be the result of upgrading the ring.
Leroy noticed that the magic array has disappeared along with the crystal.
After looking around in the room and not finding anything else, he walked outside toward the doors.
Opening them, Lucian looked at him and his body trembled a little.
'This is how Vlaric's aura felt back then...' He tought in admiration.
Leroy saw his reaction and started retracting his aura.
"It is done" Leroy said happily.
"Congratulations, master" Lucian said and bowed.
"Let's go... hmm do you know how to kill a fallen angel?" Leroy said as they started walking upstairs.
"No that I can recall, but I remember that a Necropolis was once invaded by fallen angels and their minions. At the end the Necropolis killed and imprisoned many angels until they were forced retreat back to their plane" Lucian explained what he knew.
"Oh. Do you happen to known where the necropolis is?" Maybe he could learn a few thing there.
"Hmm that event took place thousands of years ago, the necropolis was at the north, about a week of travel from here" Lucian said, it happened too long ago.
"Alright, is the town defensive array working?" Leroy asked.
"Yes master, it is working at full capacity since a few days ago" Lucian replied cheerfully, he inmediatly understood his intentions.
Leroy smiled seeing his reaction, this undead guard of him was a warmonger.
"Make the preparations, we'll assault and capture the nearby towns, don't select those backed by cities" Leroy gave the command.
"Inmediatly master!" Lucian was elated at the prospect of conquering the towns and expanding the territory.
-
Leroy just waited for an hour before Lucian completed the preparations, Sage Town would assault two nearby towns. One team would be leaded by Leroy while the other would be leaded by Lucian.
Leroy had 5,000 soldiers with him, 2,000 of them were Raven Knights while the rest were undeads of different ranks.
He was also followed by 50 undeads that would manage the town when captured.
Lucian was leading an army more than 15,000 soldiers to another town at the same time.
-
After an entire day of marching, Leroy finally saw Dry Wood Town.
The town was located at the center of a forest of dried trees that gave the town it's name.
Leroy sent the raven over to scout the town.
The town wasn't as well guarded as the current Sage's Town.
"Two great lords, a thousand high lords, two thousand lords. The great lords are at level 60 and are the highest level monster" Leroy said, the capture would be easy, even if they didn't have siege equipment.
The town strength wasn't too low in human standards, after all, only major cities had Tier 4 Magistrates.
Even in the Undead Realm, this area could be considered quite remote.
He was eager to level up his skills, most weren't far from leveling up.
On the other hand, the Tier 2 assestment in the Adventurer Association didn't even count as a real fight.
Now he even upgraded the orb, he really wanted to test his new strength.
As the army marched, the town entered an alerted state.
It was very uncommon for undeads of the region to assault towns or cities, the town army existed mostly for internal security and not to deal with external threats.
The magic array was activated and the town army climbed to the walls.
Leroy and the army stood outside of their range of attack and looked over at the town.
More and more ranged soldiers gathered at the walls while their melee rushed outside of the city.
A tall undead with a silver crown walked out from the lines of melee soldiers and spoke in range.
"Why are you leading an army here! Leave now!" The creature tried it's best to hide his panic. Sage's Town army was no joke.
Leroy looked at the silver crowned great lord for a few seconds before replying.
"You town will fall under our jurisdiction. You can either surrender now or battle" As much as he wanted to fight, he still gave a warning.
"These walls have repeled many invasions before, yours will be no different" The great lord said and walked at the back of his army.
There was three thousand soldiers on his side outside the walls.
On the walls, the second great lord leaded more than four hundred soldiers at the wall.
Leroy was happy at his response and inmediatly gave the command.
"Charge!" The army charged forward, not paying much attention to the enemies at the wall.
The silver crowned humanoid also commanded the melee soldiers to attack.
Undeads felt no fear, but those of higher rank were not idiots, it would be best if the battle could've been avoided. But since the battle was unavoidable, there was no hesitation on his actions.
Leroy walked slowly toward the enemy's army as his own army charged and clashed with them.
From the walls, hundreds of undeads attacked with ranged spells and arrows.
Leroy saw two horned undead thst wasn't engaged in a fight and smiled.
Necrotic Minos (Lord)
Level: 50
HP: 1,830,200
'Dark Arrow'
He casted and inmediatly an arrow that made the sorrounding soldiers freeze appeared.
Leroy shot the arrow inmediatly and it flew at high speed to the undead.
The sound of bones cracking could be heard as the arrow penetrated the minos's chest.
-670,510 Critical Strike.
Leroy was flabbergasted at the damage.
"Isn't this a bit too much? Is just a basic spell" He said, the dark arrow was the first skill to reach Tier 2. Each time he used dark rain, the dark arrow spell would gain proficiency.
Now the dark arrow reached the Tier 4 standard, it also took much more mana from Leroy.
Luckily he had a huge mana pool with equipment that increased his mana, furthermore he also had potions to increase his mana.
"An average player probably wouldn't be able to cast more than two spells" He felt lucky that his equipment lowered his mana consumption by around 80%, or else he would have to use Magic Scrolls or his fists.
Fortunately, the mana required to summom his creatures didn't increase so much, but neither did their Tier, the raven was still a Grand Lord but with slightly higher attributes.
Probably the system limitated them to the top among Grand Lords that weren't of special races like Archaic, Ferocious Beasts, Dragons and such.
"Even like that, I can't be restrained" Leroy smiled and moved slowly.
The battle went without suspense, he started casting one spell after the other, increasing their proficiency until his most common spells to Tier 2.
"I need to obtain Tier 2 Spellbooks, leveling them is not really fast" He complained, even though the proficiency he obtained was much more than the average player.
At some point he decided to focus only on his strongest spells. The true was that players stopped using spells like Hell Flame long ago.
'Dark rain is not too bad, it can release a lot of arrows but now it would consume a lot of mana. Dark Fireball can easily be replaced by Dark Spear... I'll definetly keep the typhoon, Absorb Agi is not that useful either, it would be cool if it absorbed Intelligence instead...'
Leroy was thinking while killing the enemies with each step he took.
Him and the army had almost defeates their enemy, only the two great lords and those at the wall remained.
Altough the undeads at the wall had a bit of an advantage, Sage's Town army also had ranged soldiers.
"Wait wait! We surrender" The silver crowned great lord said before the army could attack him.
"I see, what a shame, but I have no use for the likes lf you" Leroy replied.
His army which had been reduced to 2,900 members assaulted the great lord and prepared to assault the gates.
Leroy turnes his gaze to the second great lord that was on top of the town gates commanding the troops at the wall and attacked.
'Shadow Typhoon'
As he chanted, the typhoon inmediatly descended on the gate and walls. It inmediatly covered an area of 120 meters.
The area took Leroy by surprise and he canceled the spell inmediatly but he couldn't avoid killing some of his allies.
'This is still the standard of a Tier 3, what about Tier 4 then?' Leroy tought.
A spell that was leveled up through proficiency to a higher tier wouldn't display the same power of a spell of that tier.
For example the Tier 1 Spell Frozen Spike, when upgraded to Tier 2 wouldn't be as powerful as the Tier 2 Spell Ice Lance.
He guessed that spells that started at a higher tier were more powerful than those upgraded through proficiency.
The only exception he could think off were special spells that required exp to level up.
This was one of the reasons why he wanted Tier 2 Spellbooks to replace his spells.
He could always attack directly controlling his mana but it also had it's downsides, for example only when using spells recognized by the system would they increase in Tier with his soul orb.
The great lord at the city gates couldn't be seen as it was sent flying down to the town streets, all other creature that was attacked by the typhoon was killed.
The soldiers that were prepared to attack the gates hesitated and looked back at him.
"Don't worry it won't happen again, attack!" Leroy shouted.
The soldiers did not hesitate and attacked the gates that were already in bad shape.
They quickly sorrounded the second great lord and took the walls.
The enemy army had no way to resist any longer.
After a few minutes, the town was deadly silent, most undeads that were here hided inside the buildings.
Leroy walked to the corpse of the great lord that died inside the town and picked the items including the city deed.
The first great lord didn't drop any items, probably because he never attacked it.
As the army spread through the town, Leroy entered the town chief's building.
System: Your assault has succeeded, do you wish to capture Dry Wood Town?
"Yes" Leroy replied just as he was wondering what he needed to capture it.
Inmediatly, the town was anexed and with Sage's Town, it became part of his territory.
System: Please make a design that represents you territory. This design won't replace the ones of each captured territory.
A window appeared on his interface.
"So it's like this" Leroy started drawing the design that would represent all of his future territories.
