The First Step

Opening my eyes wearily next morning and closing them before fully waking up and seeing Ruby sleeping and Yang talking.

Yang had a mischievous smile on her face, "Not there Jack...."

'Isn't she sleeping,' I thought while holding a chuckle.

Ruby gets up with a groan looking at her sister and then at me, and like a switch, she got all energic immediately, " It's morning already! It's morning already! It's morning already! It's morning already!"

Yang sighs knowing full well that her sister won't let her sleep a bit longer and wakes up, "Morning Ruby, Morning Hot Stuff,"

"Morning sexy, Morning Cute," I said to both sisters respectively, while stretching out of my sleeping bag.

Ruby doesn't blush at my comment I think because she's overly excited about being in beacon and jumping out of her sleeping bag she said, "I can't believe we've been at Beacon for a full twenty-four hours! this is so awesome!"

"Yeah I guess," Yang said yawning still half-sleep.

"Let's go, we have stuff to do," I said while looking at Yang's and Ruby's bed hair, "Nice bed hair you two by the way, hehe."

Ruby puts her hood down to hide her hair in a flash, "Hmmm!"

Yang gives me a smirk and said, "Hot stuff, being sexy is a full-time job, give me a break, besides you sleep with a hat, now that I think about why? are you bald?"

Yang was teasing me with the fact that I was using my hat, little did she know that I was using it to hide my wolf ears from them, at first I did it to avoid finding racist extremist while I was too weak to fight them but now I don't really know why I'm sure they would accept me the way I am now, "No, hot stuff I'm not bald I just like my hat."

After having our respectives morning routines we headed to the ballroom, Yang was still brushing her hair emphasizing in the fact being sexy is a full-time job and Ruby that for some reason was the fastest of us getting ready was still chattering with us, she hasn't stop talking for the last thirty minutes.

Once we finally got to the ballroom we all got something tasty for breakfast, the food in Beacon is delicious especially the pancakes Ruby was having some eggs and bacon and Yang got one of everything.

Ruby muffled through her food, "We are going to select our team members later our will the teachers do that?."

I'm kinda scared that I learning to understand her while she speaks with her mouth full, "I'm pretty sure Ozpin or Glynda will do that,"

"Yeah that makes sense," Yang said taking a bite of my pancakes.

"Hey that was mine," I said with a fake pout, just to get Ruby to do the same.

"You snooze you lose!" Ruby said eating my last pancake, while Yang was laughing.

'Is it bad that I really care about them already,' I thought watching the sisters.

After having our breakfast we started walking and talking about the initiation and what we could expect of it, Ruby was excited to use her weapon, and Yang was both excited and worried about her sister refusing to make new friends besides me.

Ruby smiles at us and said, "I can't wait for the initiation! I will show everyone my moves! KACHU!"

Yang laughs at that, "You seem awfully chipper this morning!"

Ruby perks up pulling her weapon out, "Yep! No more awkward small talk or "getting-to-know-you" stuff. Today, I get to let my sweetheart do the talking," she finish that stroking Crescent Rose as she sighs happily.

Yang looks at Ruby with a faint smile and turns to me, "What about you hot stuff, I see you have some gauntlets and other weapons any surprises you will show us?"

"Mmmm, I mostly use my Glaive, the gauntlets runoff on dust and that is quite expensive so I use them on special occasions, and for my two pistols is for when I need extra firepower," I said holding one of the pistols up.

"Yikes gauntlets running off dust, that hurts my wallet," Yang laughs holding her wallet close, she then turns to Ruby who was still stroking her gun.

Yang sighs, "Remember, Ruby, you're not the only one going through initiation. If you wanna grow up, you're gonna have to meet new people and learn to work together, you need more than two friends."

"She's right ya know," I add.

Ruby sighs in frustration, "You two sound just like Dad!, Okay, first of all: What does meeting new people have to do with fighting? And secondly: I don't need people to help me grow up! I drink milk!"

"That... the milk... Ruby," I kinda lost my words, she's so innocent some times that it hurts.

Yang used to her sister's shenanigans said, "But what about when we form teams?"

Ruby suddenly nervous "Um, I don't know, I... I'll just be on your team or Jack's team..."

"Or you could try and make new friends, there is no such thing as too many friends," I said with a smile.

Yang smiles and my comment, "Exactly maybe you should try being on someone else's team, who knows they might be your next BFF."

Ruby looks at us with a fake hurt look, "Are you two implying that you do not wish to be on the same team as me? Yang, you are my sister my only sister, and you mister I thought that what we had was special,"

Yang falling on her trap, "What? No! Of course, I do! I just thought... I don't know, maybe it would help you... break out of your shell!"

"Well girls as much as I would like to, well, stay and talk about that, I need to go to the bathroom," Leaving the sisters talking I find Jaune looking for his locker and Weiss and Pyrrha talking, so far the cannon is going mostly on tracks except for the fact that I knocked down Roman, I wonder what changes will that bring in the future, as I leave to go to the bathroom I heard Jaune trying to flirt with Weiss poor guy doesn't know when to give up.

After my trip to the bathroom, I heard to the telecom that students were supposed to go to the Beacon Cliff, from where you could overlook a forest, Several students were already there— some old, some new, but regardless of their age they were all standing on silver tiles including me, Ruby and Yang are on the other side, too far for me to talk to them but not far enough for me to not wave and them, to which I get an enthusiastic wave from Ruby and a kiss from Yang.

Ozpin seeing that all the students were ready starts to talk, "For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest."

Glynda takes a step forward and said, "Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of 'teams.' Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... today."

'I wonder whos gonna be my teammate?' I thought.

Ozpin continued, "These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well."

'I hope I don't get the asshole that bullied Jaune, though if I get him, I would beat the crap of out him,' I thought.

Ozpin smiles and said, "That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years, After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path... or you will die."

'Ozpin really looks like a dead man talking, is kinda terrifying,' I thought seeing the emptiness on his smile.

Ozpin continued, "You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately, good luck you will need it,"

Everyone starts to strike a pose on their tile, with no idea why I do the same, maybe that way the tiles activate.

Yang waves at her younger sister and winks at me and flies off with a "Woo-hoooooooo!" a second before Ruby joins her.

A few seconds later my tile activates, and I find myself flying in the air.

'Neat,' I thought as I approached the forest.

All I had to do to land was to activate my Semblance when I was close to the floor and the deactivated so to use the ejective property of my semblance to get on the ground, it was quite easy.

As I slowly walk through the forest, some shadowy beastly shapes quickly dart through aka Grimms, before coming to a clearing and looking around at the sight of around a forty black-coated, Beowolves circling me their prey, I expected this to take more time, but apparently these creatures love to be executed by me. A few Beowolves decided to dash forward and attack me, taking out my glaive I cut their head off in a single attack.

"Ya gotta do better than that uglies," I said with a smug smirk on my face.

More Beowolves start to attack as I kept cutting right through them with ease. I leap into the air and turning my Glaive into the sniper form I start shooting the beasts then, still in the air, killing another few before landing again on the ground changing my Glaive into its close combat form.

One of the braver and bigger Beowolves goes forward if I'm not mistaken is an Alpha, but is not the first time I fight an Alpha at this point they are nothing but fodder for me, so I merely spin in midair dodging his attack and piercing the Alpha on its heart killing it.

After a few minutes of me killing an entire pack of Beowolves without using my semblance, some would ask why, well the answer is simple I don't wanna grow dependant of it, my semblance needs a lot of concentration and skill to use and to be honest I think that if it wasn't for the Sharingan I would probably would still be crashing against wall like years ago, and the other reason is that my semblance is as good as I am, meaning I need to be good for my semblance to be useful.

"And that's the last one!" I said killing the last Beowulf.

I turned around when I heard some bushes making a sound, to find that there was another Beowulf alive, running towards me, I sigh as I let the beast approach, but the beast dies before getting close to me, behind the creature I find the person who had killed the Grimm the person that would be my partner and I find it funny, life finds a way to slap you in the face for messing up with destiny, but I really don't care.

"Hey, Pyrrha," I said waving at her, my new partner, now I had two people that I wanted to save, her from Cynder and Yang from Adam, the time for both incidents make it hard.
