--------------------(MC POV)-----------------
The little humans decided to name me Keeva….Keeva Grimmwolf. I did not mind the name at all; in fact, I liked the name. I felt…happy, happy that I was here with them, and happy that I had a name. The name made me more than just a Grimm. It made me a little proud of having the name that others of my kind did not. Thinking of my kind, I found that I had small wings on my back. Did I evolve? I was never really 100% how my kind did evolve. I know that we did, and I had even seen it, but I was never sure about how we did. I tried flying, but that did not work at all. The only thing it did was made me lose balance, which in turn made me fall on my face. The little humans laughed at me, and I felt a little uneasy about it.
Thomas was eager to train with me, but Jocelyn wanted me to learn about how human society worked. I decided that I would learn with them for the day. I was still sore from the fight with that bird and did not want to fight right now. Thomas was a little upset but got over it; he was a little happy to be teaching me how to…read. For a while, we stayed like that, teaching me and me trying to learn everything from them. They were astonished at how fast I could learn. It took me a few hours to learn how to read, and it would not take me long to learn more. I enjoyed the time I spent with them; it was…lovely and pleasant.
We talked about how we were going to get to the port city called Glester. They told me that it was about a month away from here and that it would take us to the kingdom of Vale. Thomas and the other two were very much wanting to go to Vale. To me, it did not matter as long as they were safe. We also talked about how I was going to go with them. I was a Grimm, and most humans did not like my kind, not that I could blame them. We talked and tried to figure out how to hide me. It was a problem for later, I was tired and wanted to go to sleep.
"Little humans, it is time for sleep. The day has ended, and you need to rest for tomorrow. Tomorrow we are going to train and make our way to Glester." I said to them.
"But, I am not tired, plus, did you not promise to help us become strong hunters." Said Thomas.
"I did do that, but I am sore from the fight that I had. Not only that but your sister and Amber are both tried. Now come here and sleep."
"Geez….fine."
I smiled a little bit at his remark. How quickly they overcame the damage that was done made me feel happy. I was glad that they were able to recover from it. They rested and cuddled on my fur. Jocelyn had told me during the day that my fur was the softest.
They all fell asleep soon after resting on my fur. I watched them sleep, making sure that they were safe from harm. I was going to sleep too when I noticed that they started to tremble and shake. I thought they were cold, so I wrapped them up closer to my body, but that did not work. I got scared and thought that maybe that got the "sick." It was not until I felt despair and Amber saying "daddy" that I realized that the little humans missed their home. I knew that my kind would be attracted to it, so I stayed focused that night, making sure that no Grimm came close.
There were only a few small ones that came, but I was able to kill them easily with my tail. The little humans must have been tired because they did not wake up. It was a stressful night for me, but I was able to a snack and grew slightly stronger.
The next day, we talked about what happened. They were all sad about what happened and told me that they had nightmares about it. I did not know what to do or say to them. My kind and I cared very little about life; well, for me, I was not sure anymore. I tried to talk to them, to let them know that I would be there for them, that their parents are in better places. It took them some time to calm down; by the time they were done crying, my fur had wet spots all over.
"Sorry for crying so much Keeva, we thought that we were able to get past what happened yesterday, but I guess not," said Jocelyn. She started to talk more to me since we first met.
"It is okay, Jocelyn; none of you need to be sorry about it. I am here for you if you need me at any time."
"Thank you" was what they all said.
"Can we train?" asked Thomas.
"Yes, we can train, but I will not go easy on you; remember that," I said to him.
"We want to come and train too," said Jocelyn and Amber.
We made our way outside the cave. I told them to get some sticks and attack me. They did the best they could but failed on so many fronts. This was going to be harder than I thought it would be.
Thomas would try to use too much force in his attacks, Amber would get scared and not know when to attack, and Jocelyn`s attacks were too light. When I asked her about it, she said that she did not want to hurt me. I told her….many times that it was okay to hit me.
We only stopped when they were all exhausted. When I told them that we would be moving in five minutes, all I got in return were growls and silent complaints. It did not take us long to get packed up and ready to go. I wanted to take my time on this trip to hunt more Grimm, and of course, eat them. The more I ate, the stronger I felt. I was also curious about myself, do I evolve when I consume my kind? It was a question that had been on my mind quite a bit. The only way to solve it was to fight strong Grimm like the bird or eat as many smaller Grimm as possible. Either one would work, I think.
A/N: Not going to lie, I was only able to write up to the 17th chapter before I was lost on what to do. That was until I was editing this chapter. The train of ideas comes to us in our darkest hours. LOL, so with that I will be working on the last few chapters. Hopefully, I will be done by Sunday. The goal is 10 chapters by Sunday.
