Ruthless Inheritance: A Villain's Path

James Allan grew up as the sole heir to one of the most powerful duke houses in the kingdom of Solene, with a kind heart that set him apart from his overbearing father. But when his father perished under suspicious circumstances, James’s world unravelled. Betrayed by his beloved wife and closest friends, he watched helplessly as they tore apart his inheritance, leaving him destitute and broken. As he drifted through the depths of despair, a dark alter ego emerged within him—a relentless, shadowed version of himself, driven by hatred and vengeance. This sinister self, whispering at his moments of hesitation, became both a curse and a source of newfound strength, pushing James to embrace his darkest instincts. ................ "They took everything from you," the voice hissed. "And you’re just going to let them walk away?" “I’m not… I can’t.” "Can’t? Or won’t?" The voice sneered. "You’re weak. They need to bleed, James. Take back what’s yours, and let them suffer for every betrayal.” ............. In a world where power and cruelty reign, follow James Allan's descent from a man betrayed to a villain forged by vengeance—a tale of inner darkness, lost kindness, and a battle for control that will change the world forever.

The Valewood Abyss

"Mercey? No, I assume it's curiosity. You're wondering what a 'mere human' was doing so close to your precious borders. Lucky for me, curiosity stays the blade."

Vaelor, a council member, snapped at James's attitude before them. "Your arrogance is unwelcome here. You may think your wit will save you, but your fate is already sealed."

James fixed his unflinching gaze at the man, "If my fate is sealed, then so is yours." Seeing a human look unbothered about his situation unnerved them to no end.

Ignoring their piercing looks, James continued. "The Valewood Abyss? The Veil Rift? I've heard of it spreading. And if you managed to keep it hidden this long, you've done a very fine job. But… you're running out of time and from what I can tell, you're bound by tradition to solve it."

James enjoyed the looks on their faces as he rubbed their situation right into them. Some of the things he said were just BS, but from what he was seeing, he may have been right.
