Her visit was uncalled for.

Not when he just had a shot-gun marriage.

Seeing her here, it seemed Carlos had informed her, as she never took the initiative to visit him just like that!.

At times he wondered if Carlos was really his best friend or her best friend.

But he couldn't blame Carlos,she always use her ways to find out the things she wanted to know.

"Alex baby?"The voice called as Alex stood transfixed at the door.

"Baby?" Was she kidding him"Where was the son she used to call him"Alex thought as he looked at his very own mother who was at the door,He could feel Mia's stares at him,And he was certain her thoughts were entering the wild life.

"Come to think of it,I'm the only ever faithful man you would see out there despite being drop-dead handsome"She remembered his words vividly

So what was this? A woman was brought home on the night of their marriage. She stood transfixed in her position as her eyes seemed to be peering through Alex.

"Mom? You're here?" He never expected his mother to come to his home and as far as he knew, he remembered telling her he would accompany them all by weekend in the family house.

As far as he remembered, weekend was still two days.

"Can't I come to stay In my son's home? it seems someone as really forgotten he had a mother"She said with low enthusiasm

"Mo....."

"Since my only son don't even welcome me to his home, I'll get going..."She said as she looked really pitiful.

His mother was really a good actress,Did she really have to put on tricks to meet her daughter-in-law.

"Aunt,He doesn't mean it that way,Of course you are welcome here anytime"Mia chipped in as she said calmly.

She is her husband's mother,of course,she deserved equal rights even more than her.

Alex mother's face beamed hearing her daughter-in-law, she gave Alex a mocking gaze before she enveloped her daughter-in-law into a warm hug.

"My daughter-in-law looks better in person" she giggled happily.

Mia was shocked by her shocking actions as she couldn't find words to say in her current situation.

"Mom, you're scaring her"Alex voice resounded

"Am I? I'm sorry dear, it's been a long time have asked this son of mine to introduce you to me,Seeing you I couldn't control myself"

"It's okay Aunt" Mia said.

"I hope this son of mine haven't been giving you problems "

"No aunt" Mia said.

Alex mother and his wife kept on exchanging words, not paying attention to Alex presence. Which made him feel like an outsider In his own home.

Her mother-in-law really surprised her,Are mother's -in-law not always wicked?

And Alex mother proved that right. She could feel her mother's presence in her.How she missed her mother, she felt a sudden rush of emotions as she was on the verge of tearing up

"What's wrong dear?"Alex mother said as she looked at Mia who seemed to be holding back her tears.Akex attention was now on Mia.

Uncounciously, he moved closer to her.

"Are you alright?" He asked with concern laced in his voice.

"Did I hurt you?"

"No aunt, it's nothing, Can I hug you?" Mia said

"Sure, why not?"Alex mother said as she embraced Mia, Soon enough, Realization dawned on Alex's mother.

Alex noticed the change In his mother's expression

"Was she not happy now?""What now?"

"Women and mood swings" his subconscious stated.

"Wait, isn't today your wedding night?" She asked all of a sudden after breaking the hug.

"Mhm"Alex replied

"Then why are you still here with me, And why haven't you started making my grandchildren"She said as Mia's cheek flushed red.

"Ehm.. I wanted to watch a show, so I had Alex come down with me" she said trying to distract her mother-in-law but her mother-in-law didn't buy it,instead, she sent both of them to their room.

After, sending the newlyweds to their room, Alex mother sat in the living room as she watched a favourite show while eating the fruits placed on the table.

***The master bedroom

Luckily, their bedroom was soundproof and it'll be close to impossible for Alex mother to know that they skipped their wedding night.

"What was the use of wedding night without love?"

Mia excused herself to the bathroom, as she felt the need to take a warm bath. She walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body. Seeing Alex she was shocked.

"What was he doing in her room?"

"Stupid,Have you really forgotten you're now married"Her subconscious scolded.Her hand tighten around the towel as she walked cautiously tiptoeing like a thief who was cautious of being caught.

Since her clothes were now arranged in the closet she walked in the direction of the closet.

"You're done?"Alex questioned as a smile curled up his lips seeing her hands tighten around her towel.

"She really had a naughty mind"Alex thought.

"Yes.."She replied.He entered into the bathroom and soon he came out with a towel wrapped around his torso as he dried his hair with the other towel.Mia stood fixed at the walk in closet as she searched for her pyjamas but she could only find a short bridal nightgown.

Laura!!!!

Her name came to her mind, she should have suspected that Laura won't just take the initiative to help her pack,now it's known she was up to something and it seemed her plan had worked out as she will have no other choice but to wear the nightgown.

She kept on screaming in her head, oblivious of the fact Alex was now behind her

"It seems you really want this night to be special"His voice resounded behind her,As Mia hair stiffened uprightly.

"And here he is with his arrogancy"she said inaudibly.

"You..?"She could only say a word as she moved backward to maintain a distance between them as her eyes fell on his bare chest.

"Mia...Focus,"She scolded herself.

Alex moved closer to her,as he closed the distance between them.Her hands that was on her towel was now on his bare chest.

Seeing their closeness and her hands which was now on his bare chest, her cheeks went beet red, but of course she won't make him win.

Unknown to her, her towel was on the verge of exposing as her cleavage was now exposed to Alex,Alex stood in his position with no intention to move as his eyes was now fixed on her cleavage.Seeibg no reaction from him but his eyes seem to be wandering around, she followed his line of sight.

"You Pervert!!!"She said as she held her towel in place while she pushed him away, she took her nightgown and ran into the bathroom.

"Shameless Perverted Man"She cursed out as she entered the bathroom.Alex chuckled before putting on his pants.Seeing Alex back facing the bathroom, Mia tiptoed as she covered herself with the duvet,She kept on scolding Laura at her, But of course,she knew that Laura was not fully to be blamed as she was oblivious of the fact they got married for their personal gains.Alex soon got on the bed as he inched closer to her as his faint smell nestled around her nostrils.

"Alex?"

"Mhm?"

"Move to the other end of the bed"She said cautiously.

"?"He asked as he thought of the possibility of her thinking going wild.

"You are too close"She said as a matter-of-fact.

He laughed inaudibly hearing her,he had never expected her words not even in his widest imagination.

"Get some sleep"He replied curtly.
